Role Description The Owner at Ahmedabad University is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and long-term vision of the institution. This role involves guiding academic priorities, research agendas, and program development to ensure alignment with the university’s mission of interdisciplinary learning and impactful scholarship. The Owner collaborates closely with senior leadership, faculty, and governing bodies to foster an inclusive, high-performing academic environment and to strengthen external partnerships with industry, government, and global institutions.

Daily responsibilities include reviewing institutional performance, supporting resource allocation and infrastructure development, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance, and championing initiatives that enhance student experience and faculty excellence. The role also includes representing the university in key public forums and cultivating philanthropic and community relationships that advance the university’s growth and reputation.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in academic or institutional leadership, including strategic planning, governance,



and stakeholder management.
- Strong background in higher education, research, or related sectors, with familiarity across disciplines such as engineering, humanities, management, natural sciences, or social sciences.
- Proven ability to build and sustain inclusive, cooperative environments that support faculty, staff, and student success.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with the capacity to represent the university to diverse internal and external audiences.
- Experience with financial oversight, resource planning, and infrastructure development in complex organizations.
- Commitment to non-discriminatory, gender-neutral, and equitable practices, and to promoting ethical and socially responsible leadership.
- Advanced degree in a relevant academic or professional field; a doctoral degree or equivalent experience in academic leadership is highly beneficial.
- Prior experience working within or closely with universities or large educational foundations in India or internationally is an advantage.
