Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and quality-focused Microbiologist to join our Quality Control team. The candidate will be responsible for microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished botanical extracts, ensuring compliance with established quality standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on laboratory experience, a sound understanding of microbiological testing procedures and a commitment to maintaining laboratory quality, hygiene and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
- Conduct microbial limit tests, total viable count and yeast and mould testing.
- Perform testing for specified pathogens as per applicable product specifications and approved methods.
- Monitor environmental and personnel hygiene through routine microbiological checks.




- Prepare and maintain microbiological media, reagents and laboratory cultures as required.
- Ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of microbiological samples and laboratory waste.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and relevant safety protocols.
- Support investigations into out-of-specification (OOS) results and deviations.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory cleanliness, equipment calibration records and quality control procedures.

Qualifications and ExperienceEducational Qualification

- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology or a related discipline.

Experience

- Experience in microbiological testing within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food or herbal extract industry would be preferred.
- Freshers with relevant academic knowledge and laboratory skills may also be considered, depending on the role requirements.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of microbiological testing methods and laboratory practices.
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP and microbiological quality standards.
- Robust documentation and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to work collaboratively within a quality control team.
