About the Role

RDX Extrusion Machinery is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in SOLIDWORKS to design and develop plastic extrusion and recycling machinery.

The candidate will be responsible for creating 3D models, machine assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation while coordinating with production, fabrication, and assembly teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturing-ready.

Key Responsibilities

- 3D Machine Design: Develop 3D parts, assemblies, and layouts of plastic extrusion and recycling machinery using SOLIDWORKS.
- Machinery Design: Design machine frames, hoppers, shafts, rollers, guards, supports, sheet-metal parts, and fabricated structures.
- Extrusion Equipment: Work on components and assemblies related to extruders, cutter-compactors, pelletizers, gearboxes, and auxiliary equipment.
- Manufacturing Drawings: Prepare detailed 2D engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
- Design Calculations: Perform basic mechanical calculations for shafts, fasteners, bearings, fits, tolerances, and material selection.
- Design for Manufacturing: Ensure designs are easy to manufacture, assemble, maintain, and service.
- Production Coordination: Work closely with production, fabrication, machining, and assembly teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Design Improvements: Modify existing machine designs to improve reliability, performance, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance.
- Documentation: Maintain organized SOLIDWORKS files, revision history, drawings,



and technical documentation.

Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS 3D modelling, assemblies, and 2D drafting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and machine design.
- Experience creating manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal design, weldments, standard mechanical components, bearings, shafts, and fasteners.
- Understanding of engineering materials, machining processes, fabrication, and manufacturing tolerances.
- Ability to interpret engineering requirements and convert them into practical machine designs.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in plastic extrusion machinery, plastic recycling machinery, or polymer-processing equipment.
- Exposure to extruders, cutter-compactors, pelletizers, shredders, screw conveyors, gearboxes, and transmission systems.
- Experience in industrial machinery manufacturing and coordination with shop-floor teams.
- Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS Simulation or basic FEA will be an added advantage.

Education & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1–2 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
- Candidates with direct experience in extrusion or plastic recycling machinery will be preferred.

Location Preference Candidates residing in Vasai, Virar, Palghar, Mira-Bhayandar, or nearby locations will be preferred.
