DataWeave
Bengaluru
@DataWeave The Products team at DataWeave builds data products that deliver timely, actionable insights at scale. Our product suite includes Digital Shelf Analytics, Pricing Intelligence, Content Optimization, and SKU Management, along with internal tools that help the rest of the organization scale. Every one of these products asks users to make decisions from large volumes of data. Design is what determines whether they can.
We are hiring a Lead Product Designer to own end-to-end design at DataWeave.
This spans two connected areas: the design of our product suite, and the design of everything that carries the DataWeave brand, including marketing content, white papers, and trade show materials. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role. You will work directly with product managers, engineers, data scientists, marketing, and customers, and you will set the design standards the rest of the organization builds against.
Responsibilities
Product design
- Own end-to-end design across the DataWeave product suite: discovery, user research, information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, interactive prototypes, and post-launch iteration.
- Design data-dense experiences that stay usable: dashboards, drill-downs, comparison views, alerting, and reporting workflows over billions of data points. Apply progressive disclosure and clear visual hierarchy so users find the insight without wading through the noise.
- Define and evolve our data visualization language: choose the right chart, table, or summary for each analytical question, and standardize these patterns across product modules.
- Design for multiple platforms and form factors: responsive web application, large-screen analyst workflows, mobile and tablet consumption views, and email/report exports, keeping the experience coherent across all of them.
- Establish and maintain the design system: a component library, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards (WCAG) that let multiple engineering teams ship consistent interfaces fast.
- Design the UX for AI-powered features: natural language querying, conversational workflows, AI-generated summaries and recommendations. Handle the hard parts of AI UX, including how to show confidence and provenance, how to let users verify and correct outputs, and how to design for responses that are sometimes wrong.
- Use modern AI tools as a core part of your own workflow, for generating design variations,
building working prototypes, synthesizing research, producing marketing creatives, and accelerating handoff, while applying senior judgment to what these tools produce.
- Partner closely with engineering: deliver specs and prototypes precise enough to build from, review implementations, and make pragmatic trade-offs between design intent and delivery timelines.
- Use product analytics and user feedback to measure whether shipped designs work, and iterate when they do not.
- Present design rationale to leadership and customers clearly, and document design decisions so they survive team and roadmap changes.
Brand and marketing design
- Own the DataWeave brand identity across every surface it appears on: logo usage, typography, color, and visual language. Maintain brand guidelines and ensure everything the company puts out is consistent with them.
- Design marketing and thought-leadership content in partnership with the Marketing team: white papers, blog visuals and illustrations, case studies, sales decks, one-pagers, social media creatives, and website assets.
- Design DataWeave's presence at trade shows and industry events: booth design, banners, standees, brochures, giveaways, and other print collateral, including print-ready production files and coordination with vendors.
- Act as the design liaison to Marketing: plan design support for campaigns and events, manage competing deadlines across product and marketing work, and keep both sides informed of trade-offs.
You Have •
6-7+ years of UI/UX or product design experience on SaaS platforms, with a portfolio of shipped B2B products. Experience with data products, analytics tools, or dashboard-heavy interfaces is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience designing for multiple platforms: responsive web at minimum, with mobile, tablet, or other surfaces alongside it.
- A strong user research practice: you have personally planned and run interviews and usability tests with enterprise customers, not only consumed research done by others.
• Working fluency with modern AI design tools and workflows (AI features in Figma or equivalent, prompt-to-prototype tools, AI-assisted research synthesis), and a point of view on where they help and where they mislead.
- Experience designing UX for AI or ML product features such as search, recommendations, conversational interfaces, or generated content, or clear evidence you can get there fast.
- Command of data visualization principles: when to use which chart form, how to design tables people can actually scan, and how to present uncertainty and data freshness honestly.
- Experience building or significantly extending a design system used by multiple teams.
- Visual and graphic design range beyond product UI: marketing collateral, long-form content layout (white papers, reports), and print. Working knowledge of print production, including bleed, resolution, and color profiles, and of tools such as Adobe Creative Suite alongside Figma.
- Experience owning or stewarding a company's brand identity, and the judgment to apply it consistently across product, web, content, and physical materials.
- Experience working with marketing teams on campaigns, events, or content, and the ability to balance marketing deadlines against product roadmap work without letting either slip silently.
- Enough technical understanding to collaborate well with engineers: how web front ends are built, what is cheap and what is expensive to implement, and how APIs and data pipelines constrain what the interface can show.
- Excellent communication skills. You can defend a design decision with evidence, write transparent documentation, and present to customers and executives.
- Comfort operating with high ownership in a fast-paced, startup-like environment: you drive your own work, unblock yourself, and raise standards for everyone around you.
Growth @ DataWeave
