What will you do

We are looking for an experienced Lead Network Engineer to manage, design, implement and optimize a highly available and secure enterprise network environment for a FinTech organization. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in MPLS, routing & switching, enterprise firewalls, VPN/IPSec tunnels, Firewall HA, network failover, L3 networking, DR connectivity and bank/partner connectivity. The candidate should have prior experience working in a FinTech, Banking, BFSI or payment-processing environment and should understand the criticality of high-availability networks supporting financial transactions and customer-facing applications.

Job Responsibilities:

Enterprise Network Infrastructure

- Design, implement, manage and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain routers, L2/L3 switches, firewalls, load balancers and other network devices.
- Design scalable and highly available network architecture for production, UAT, DR and cloud environments.
- Ensure network availability, performance, capacity and security.
- Maintain network diagrams, IP addressing plans, configuration standards and network documentation.

Advanced MPLS

- Strong hands-on and advanced knowledge of MPLS technology.
- Design, configure, troubleshoot and manage MPLS connectivity.
- Manage MPLS connectivity between Data Center, DR, Cloud, Branch/Office and Bank/Partner environments.
- Work with MPLS service providers for provisioning, troubleshooting, bandwidth upgrades and SLA management.
- Troubleshoot MPLS latency, packet loss, routing and connectivity issues. • Coordinate with multiple telecom/network service providers for critical production connectivity.

Firewall & Network Security

- Robust hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls such as FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point or equivalent.
- Configure and troubleshoot firewall policies, NAT, routing, security policies, objects/groups, ACLs, VPN, logging and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of Firewall HA architecture.
- Experience with Active-Passive / Active-Active HA, firewall synchronization and failover.
- Perform planned firewall failover and HA testing.
- Troubleshoot firewall-related connectivity and security issues.

VPN / IPSec / Secure Connectivity

- Advanced hands-on experience with Site-to-Site VPN and IPSec tunnels.
- Configure and troubleshoot IKE Phase 1 / Phase 2, encryption and authentication,



PFS, pre-shared keys, tunnel monitoring, route-based and policy-based VPN.
- Experience establishing secure connectivity with banks, vendors, cloud platforms and external partners.
- Troubleshoot VPN tunnel instability, negotiation failures and packet-flow issues.

Routing & Switching

- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with TCP/IP, IPv4 / IPv6, VLAN / Trunking, STP / RSTP, LACP, ARP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, ACL, Static Routing, Default Routing and Policy-Based Routing.

L3 Networking – Advanced

- Strong understanding of Layer-3 networking and routing architecture.
- Hands-on experience with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP / equivalent where applicable, static and dynamic routing, route redistribution, routing policies, ECMP and VRRP / HSRP / equivalent gateway redundancy.
- Troubleshoot complex routing and asymmetric routing issues.

HA, Failover & Auto-Switching

- Design and manage highly available network architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Firewall HA, Router redundancy, Switch redundancy, Gateway redundancy, Link failover, Auto-switching, WAN failover and Dual ISP/MPLS connectivity.
- Conduct planned failover/failback testing.
- Ensure minimum service disruption during network maintenance and infrastructure changes.

Data Center & DR Networking

- Design and maintain network connectivity between Primary DC and DR.
- Plan and execute DR network readiness activities.
- Configure and validate DC-to-DR connectivity, Routing, Firewall policies, VPN/IPSec, Load balancer connectivity and Application connectivity.
- Participate in regular DR drills and failover/failback testing.
- Ensure critical applications remain reachable during DR operations.

Cloud & Hybrid Network Connectivity

- Experience with networking in AWS / Azure / NxtGen / other enterprise clouds.
- Understanding of VPC/VNet, Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, VPN, Direct connectivity and Hybrid DC-to-Cloud networking.
- Experience troubleshooting connectivity between on-premise DC, DR and cloud environments.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

- Monitor network availability, bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss and device health.
- Use Wireshark, PRTG / SolarWinds / Zabbix, Grafana / Prometheus, SNMP-based monitoring and Firewall monitoring tools.
- Perform packet-level troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Handle critical network incidents and provide RCA.

Security & Compliance

- Implement network security controls to protect sensitive financial and customer data.
- Support security audits, vulnerability assessments and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of PCI DSS and network security controls.
- Maintain firewall rules and network configurations according to security policies.
- Coordinate with Security, SOC, Compliance and Audit teams.

Vendor & Bank Coordination

- Coordinate with MPLS/ISP vendors, Firewall vendors, Cloud providers, Data Center providers, Banks, Payment partners and Application teams.
- Manage network-related incidents, escalations and SLA follow-ups.
- Review technical proposals, network designs and vendor configurations.

Change & Incident Management

- Plan and execute network changes with minimum business impact.




- Prepare MOP/SOP, Change plan, Rollback plan, Risk assessment and Validation checklist.
- Participate in planned maintenance and emergency changes.
- Lead major network incidents and coordinate resolution across internal and external teams.

Documentation

- Maintain updated Network architecture diagrams, IP address inventory, Firewall policy documentation, MPLS details, VPN/IPSec details, Routing information, Device inventory, Configuration backups, DR network documentation and MOP/SOP/RCA documents.

What are we looking for:

- 7+ years of experience in Network Infrastructure and Enterprise Networking.
- Strong hands-on experience in MPLS, VPN/IPSec tunnels, Firewall HA, and failover configurations.
- Deep understanding of Layer 3 networking, routing protocols, and network architecture.
- Prior experience working in FinTech, Banking, BFSI, or Payment Processing environments.
- Experience managing and supporting production networks for business-critical applications.
- Exposure to Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity network planning and execution.
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve critical network incidents in a production environment.
- Experience coordinating with banks, telecom providers, cloud providers, and external vendors.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ownership of production network infrastructure and service availability.
- Strong incident management, escalation handling, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience with vendor management and cross-functional coordination.
- Knowledge of change management, risk assessment, and network governance practices.
- Ability to lead network infrastructure projects independently from planning to execution.
- Strong documentation and operational process management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure production environments.
- Willingness to participate in on-call support, planned maintenance, and critical infrastructure activities.

Education Qualification - Graduate / B.Tech / B.E. / equivalent technical qualification

Certifications: CCNA / CCNP, Fortinet NSE / FCP, Palo Alto PCNSA / PCNSE, JNCIS / JNCIP, Network Security certifications, Other relevant networking certifications

Experience – 3+ years.

Industry - IT/Software/BFSI/Banking/Fintech
