ECL builds the software that funds B2B SaaS and AI companies. You'll work across two products: Flow, our US–India cross-border payments platform, and Financing, our global revenue-based financing platform for AI & SaaS. That means web apps, APIs, data pipelines and integrations with banks, payments and CRM systems.

You'll touch all of it. There is no separate backend or frontend team to hand things off to. You'll report to the Head of Engineering and work closely with product and the underwriting team in Bangalore.

What you'll do:

Design, build and ship features end to end: data model, API, UI, deployment. Own the technical design for the projects your team takes on, and write a good share of the code yourself. Build and maintain integrations with external systems (banking data, payments, CRM, document processing). Keep production healthy: observability, on-call rotation, incident follow-through, security hygiene. Raise the bar on engineering practice: code review, testing, CI/CD, documentation.

Lead (the rest)



Lead a small team of engineers: set direction, break work down, unblock, review, and give regular feedback. Run the team's planning and delivery cadence with the product manager. Mentor the engineers on your team and grow them toward the next level. Be the technical point of contact for your area with product, underwriting and leadership. As the team grows, step into the Engineering Manager role: hiring, performance reviews, and owning outcomes for the team.

What we're looking for;

6+ years building and shipping production software, most of it as a full-stack or backend engineer on a small team. Solid in at least one of TypeScript/Node or Python, comfortable across the stack: relational databases (Postgres), REST APIs, a modern frontend framework, and AWS.

Has led work that other engineers depended on: a tech lead, a project lead, or the person the team went to when things broke. Has mentored or reviewed for junior engineers and wants to do more of it. Real interest in growing into people management, not just tolerance of it. Ships pragmatically. Knows when a quick fix is right and when it isn't, and can explain the difference to product.

Communicates clearly in writing: design docs, PR descriptions, incident write-ups.

Nice to have;

Experience with LLM-backed products: prompt design, evaluation, agent or RAG pipelines. Fintech or B2B SaaS background: payments, banking integrations, financial data, or compliance environments (SOC 2 / ISO 27001). Has been through a team growing from a handful of engineers to more. We care more about what you've shipped and how you led than about titles. If you've run a team informally without the title, tell us.
