Bhavyata Foundation, a Mumbai-based educational nonprofit, is looking for a full-time Educator to teach primary and upper-primary learners from diverse backgrounds. The Educator will teach several subjects, with Mathematics, English and Science as the priority, and will work with classrooms where learners are at different ages and learning levels. The role reports to the Programme Lead and works closely with fellow educators, volunteers and parents.
The Educator will plan and deliver engaging, activity-based lessons and adapt material for first-generation learners and those below grade level. Beyond teaching, they will run baseline and ongoing assessments, track each learner's progress, and use the results to regroup and support weaker learners. They will also manage admissions paperwork, attendance and progress records, lesson plans and monthly reports, and coordinate exam arrangements.
A key part of the role is working with families. The Educator will hold regular parent meetings and counsel parents on attendance, exam readiness, dropout risk and their child's next steps, referring welfare concerns to the coordinator. They will also mentor interns and volunteers in the classroom and contribute to curriculum and teaching-aid development.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with Mathematics, Science or English as a subject, along with a B.Ed., D.El.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
A postgraduate degree, M.Ed., CTET or MAHA-TET certification, or training in counselling, child psychology or inclusive education will be an advantage. Fluency in English and in Hindi or Marathi is essential, as is basic comfort with Google Workspace or MS Office.
We are looking for at least three years of classroom teaching experience at the primary or upper-primary level, covering at least two of Mathematics, English and Science; five or more years is preferred. Experience with mixed-ability or remedial classrooms, designing and grading assessments, maintaining academic records and conducting parent meetings is expected. Prior work with underserved or first-generation learners, or in an NGO setting, will be valued.
This is a full-time, in office position in Mumbai with a three-month probation period;
compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. Applicants should send their CV, a short cover note, copies of their degree and teaching certificates, a sample lesson plan and two professional references. Shortlisted candidates will complete a written task, a demo class and a panel interview, followed by reference and background checks. Selected candidates must agree to the Foundation's child-protection policy.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹42,000.00 per month
