What will you do

As a Technical Lead, you will work on the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale BBPS solutions using Java technologies and agile methodologies. You will be responsible for building highly available and scalable bill payment systems, integrating with Bharat BillPay ecosystem participants, and ensuring seamless customer payment experiences.

Role is responsible for defining and enhancing the architecture supporting biller onboarding, bill fetch, payment processing, reconciliation, and settlement functions within the BBPS ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities:

- Lead architecture, design, and development of BBPS platforms and related payment services.
- Own technical delivery of bill payment processing systems handling large transaction volumes.
- Design and implement integrations with BBPOUs, banks, billers, aggregator platforms, and NPCI interfaces.
- Lead the team from analysis, design, development till deployment and post-production support for BBPS system.
- Lead a team of software developers, analysts, and technical specialists.
- Drive implementation of scalable APIs, microservices, and middleware services.
- Ensure compliance with NPCI BBPS guidelines, operational standards, and certification requirements.
- Design systems for biller management, bill presentment, bill fetch, payment collection, and settlement workflows.
- Build robust reconciliation, dispute management, reporting, and transaction monitoring frameworks.
- Review solution designs and source code to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
- Perform performance optimization, scalability assessments, and system tuning.
- Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues.




- Establish DevOps practices, automated deployments, and monitoring frameworks.
- Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and external partners for successful delivery.
- Ensure overall reliability, security, scalability, and availability of the platform.

What are we looking for:

- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, enterprise application design, and payment systems.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Microservices, Kafka/RabbitMQ, RESTful APIs, Redis/KeyDB and distributed architectures.
- Should understand JVM, connection pools, multi-threading execution models.
- Deep understanding of BBPS ecosystem, NPCI Bharat BillPay framework, and bill payment workflows.
- Experience in biller onboarding, bill aggregation, bill presentment, payment processing, and settlement systems.
- String understanding of BOU, COU and UPMS.
- Solid knowledge of reconciliation, transaction lifecycle management, exception handling, and MIS reporting.
- Experience building high-availability transaction processing systems.
- Strong database knowledge including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL technologies.
- Understanding of security standards, audit controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.




- Knowledge of payment integration frameworks and API gateway solutions.
- Ability to lead technical discussions with banks, billers, fintech partners, and payment ecosystem participants.

Education Qualification- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.

Experience – 8 to 12 years.
