Seva Sadan is a 118-year-old non-profit organization based in Gamdevi, Mumbai. We are registered as a Trust and run by an elected Managing Committee who are working voluntarily. The services we offer include a Residential Home for underprivileged girls (ages 8 to 18), Schools in Marathi and English medium and Skill Development courses in computers, beauty and tailoring.

We run a Residential Home that accommodates 100 girls. They are provided lodging & boarding and are educated at our schools. The Society is responsible for the safety, well-being, and upbringing of the girls who are entrusted in the care of a team of five employees (which includes two matrons, an administrator, an assistant, and a social worker).

We are looking for a Live - in House Mother, who is responsible for the overall care, discipline, administration, and welfare of the residents of the Home.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee admissions as per Society guidelines, including family visits and interviews.

· Implement and periodically update Home rules and maintain accurate resident records.

· Provide regular feedback to the Home Committee and Administrator on the functioning of the Home.

· Ensure discipline, dress code, punctuality, personal hygiene, and cleanliness of the premises.

· Guide residents in manners, life skills, and socially appropriate behaviour.

· Coordinate with schools regarding academic progress and oversee tuition, volunteer programmes, extracurricular activities, and events.





· Prepare and monitor schedules for school, tuition, enrichment classes, physical training, and games.

· Attend to medical needs by coordinating with hospitals, visiting doctors, and counsellors.

· Ensure balanced nutrition and supervise coordination with kitchen staff.

· Ensure the safety and security of all residents.

· Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians.

· Keep records of donations in kind and alumni details.

· Maintain confidentiality and represent the Society in a professional manner at all times.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

· A Graduate with at least 4 years of relevant experience.

· The House Mother will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

· A warm, mature, tactful and empathetic personality.

· A firm but fair and consistent outlook with positive listening skills.

· A solid understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion with regard to privileged information.

· Salary will be between ₹30,000 - ₹50,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

· The candidate will also be provided boarding and lodging.
