We are looking for an experienced and responsible Horticulturist to manage landscape maintenance activities at our GMR Airport project, ensuring healthy plant growth, high-quality landscape presentation, proper maintenance execution and accurate documentation.

Job DescriptionThe Horticulturist will be responsible for supervising daily horticultural maintenance activities, monitoring plant health, coordinating site manpower, maintaining landscape quality and preparing the documentation and reports required for the GMR Airport maintenance project.

The candidate must have practical horticulture knowledge, good documentation skills and the ability to coordinate with site supervisors, workers, the PlantsShip operations team and the client’s representatives.

Key Responsibilities1. Horticulture and Landscape Maintenance

- Supervise daily landscape maintenance activities, including watering, pruning, weeding, mowing, planting, fertilisation and plant replacement.
- Monitor the health of lawns, shrubs, trees, ground covers, seasonal plants and other landscape elements.
- Identify pest infestations, diseases, nutrient deficiencies and plant health issues and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Monitor irrigation schedules, water distribution and plant requirements.
- Ensure landscape areas are maintained according to approved horticultural practices and project requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure identified issues are rectified promptly.

2. Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly landscape maintenance reports.
- Maintain records of manpower deployment, attendance,



work completion and maintenance activities.
- Prepare plant replacement records, plant health inspection reports and landscape condition reports.
- Maintain records of fertiliser, pesticide, soil amendment and other horticultural material usage.
- Maintain irrigation inspection records, complaint registers, corrective-action reports and pending-work trackers.
- Prepare photographic reports documenting site conditions, completed work and areas requiring improvement.
- Maintain checklists, registers and other documentation required under the GMR Airport project’s approved procedures.
- Submit reports within the prescribed timelines and maintain proper records for client inspections and audits.

3. Manpower and Site Coordination
- Coordinate daily activities with landscape supervisors, gardeners and maintenance workers.
- Allocate work according to the maintenance schedule and monitor completion.
- Check manpower deployment and productivity and report shortages to the reporting manager.
- Coordinate with the PlantsShip operations team regarding materials, equipment, plant replacements and additional requirements.
- Attend site inspections and client coordination meetings as required.
- Track complaints, observations and pending activities until closure.

4. Quality, Safety and Compliance
- Maintain landscape quality in accordance with approved project specifications and client expectations.
- Follow applicable site safety procedures and airport access requirements.
- Ensure appropriate handling and use of fertilisers, pesticides, tools and equipment.
- Maintain relevant material usage and safety records.
- Support client inspections, internal reviews and corrective-action follow-ups.
- Escalate urgent horticultural,



safety or maintenance issues to the reporting manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Floriculture or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in horticulture, landscaping or landscape maintenance.
- Experience in commercial landscaping, institutional campuses, infrastructure projects or large landscape maintenance sites is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of plant identification, pruning, fertilisation, irrigation, lawn maintenance, pest management and plant replacement.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare daily reports, checklists, registers and monthly maintenance documentation.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, email and digital reporting.
- Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work at the GMR Airport project site in Hyderabad.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Performance will be assessed based on:
1. Timely completion of scheduled landscape maintenance activities.
2. Landscape quality and plant health.
3. Accuracy and timely submission of maintenance documentation.
4. Closure of site observations and client complaints within agreed timelines.
5. Effective manpower coordination and productivity.
6. Proper control and recording of horticultural material consumption.
7. Compliance with site safety requirements and approved maintenance procedures.

The ideal candidate should be organised, proactive, comfortable working with site teams and capable of maintaining accurate records without continuous supervision.
