Level: Senior Manager / GM, depending on experience

Role Overview

Lead the technical solutioning, engineering, execution and service delivery of industrial automation business. Support Sales before order award and take end-to-end ownership of all awarded automation projects through engineering, software development, integration, testing, commissioning, customer acceptance and closure. Lead automation breakdown support and installed-base services alongside project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Solutioning & Pre-Sales

- Review RFQs, specifications, I/O lists, control philosophies, P&IDs; and tender requirements with Sales and Estimation.
- Develop and validate PLC/DCS, SCADA/HMI, VFD, servo, remote I/O and industrial network architectures; select suitable hardware and software.
- Estimate engineering and commissioning effort, resources and execution costs. Identify exclusions, technical risks and value-engineering opportunities before order finalization.
- Lead technical discussions with customers, consultants, OEMs and EPC contractors; ensure proposed solutions are feasible and deliverable.

2. Project Engineering, Execution & Closure
- Take ownership from order handover; establish scope, schedules, engineering-hour budgets, resource plans, milestones and acceptance criteria.
- Lead and review PLC/DCS programming, SCADA/HMI development, communications and system integration against approved functional requirements.
- Run periodic technical and project reviews; resolve bottlenecks, manage dependencies and maintain visibility of progress, risks and commissioning readiness.
- Oversee FAT, site commissioning, SAT,



performance validation and customer acceptance; coordinate procurement and panel manufacturing interfaces.
- Close punch points and deliver as-built documentation, software backups, operating handover and customer sign-off for timely project closure.

3. Team Leadership & Resource Allocation
- Deploy engineers across projects and services according to competence, workload, customer criticality and delivery commitments.
- Monitor utilization, productivity and engineering quality; mentor engineers and provide hands-on guidance on complex technical issues.
- Identify skill gaps and staffing needs; build reusable software libraries, engineering standards, review practices and documentation templates.

4. Breakdown Support & Automation Services
- Own automation service requests, remote support and site interventions; prioritize critical breakdowns and act as the technical escalation point.
- Guide diagnosis and resolution of PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, servo and network faults; coordinate advanced support with Schneider Electric and other OEMs.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions; ensure transparent customer communication, service records and case closure.
- Support upgrades, retrofits, migrations, modifications and expansions across existing installations.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation,



Automation or a related engineering discipline; 1015 years of relevant industrial automation experience, including project execution, commissioning and technical team leadership.
- Strong hands-on PLC programming, SCADA/HMI development, control system integration, instrumentation and industrial process knowledge.
- Schneider Electric experience preferred, including Modicon M340/M580, EcoStruxure Control Expert and AVEVA Plant SCADA. Exposure to Siemens, Rockwell, ABB or comparable platforms is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA and industrial networking; proven troubleshooting experience on live installations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, engineering budgets, customer expectations and technical escalations. Willingness to travel for reviews, commissioning and critical service support.

Preferred Candidate Profile A hands-on automation leader who has progressed from PLC/SCADA engineering and site commissioning into technical and project leadership. Substantial end-to-end execution experience with an automation system integrator is preferred. Experience in pharmaceuticals, metals and mining, water and wastewater, paper, chemicals, or food and beverages is relevant.
