Experience: 1–4 Years
Notice Period: Immediate to 15 Days
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in ECE, EEE, or a related field
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Hardware Engineer to join our hardware team. The candidate will be responsible for designing MCU-based hardware boards, developing power circuits, designing PCBs, and performing board bring-up and debugging. The role involves working closely with the firmware and RF teams to develop reliable hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design schematics for MCU-based boards using STM32, ESP32, NXP, TI, or similar microcontrollers.
- Develop clock, reset, boot, debugging, and programming circuits.
- Select components and interpret datasheets to verify pin configurations, electrical specifications, and peripheral requirements.
- Design and debug communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN/CAN-FD, and USB.
- Design power circuits, including buck/boost converters, LDOs, load switches, eFuses, power multiplexing, and battery input protection.
- Perform power budgeting, thermal estimation, and component derating.
- Implement ESD, EMI, and transient protection for connectors and external interfaces.
- Design 4-layer PCBs, including stack-up planning, component placement, routing, grounding, power/ground planes, and decoupling.
- Perform hardware bring-up, power-on checks, power rail validation, interface testing, and debugging in the laboratory.
- Coordinate with the firmware team to identify and resolve hardware-related issues.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs,
verify component availability, and identify alternative components.
- Prepare design documentation, test reports, and support technical design reviews.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), or a related field.
- 1–4 years of hands-on experience in hardware design and development.
- Solid understanding of microcontroller hardware, including GPIO, ADC, timers, clocks, boot modes, and SWD/JTAG.
- Practical experience with UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN communication interfaces at the hardware level.
- Experience designing DC-DC converters and LDO power circuits, including component selection and basic loop stability.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB design/review tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar.
- Practical experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, DC power supplies, and electronic loads.
- Ability to independently read and interpret datasheets and application notes.
Good to Have
- Exposure to RF circuits, matching networks, RF layout, antennas, or spectrum/network analysers.
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as USB 2.0/3.0, Ethernet, LVDS, DDR, or MIPI.
- Understanding of controlled impedance, signal integrity, and length matching.
- Familiarity with DFM, DFT, and EMI/EMC testing.
- Experience in avionics, defence, UAVs/drones, or communication products.
Candidate Preference Candidates with strong hands-on experience in embedded hardware design, power electronics, PCB layout, and laboratory debugging are preferred.
