About Drucks
At Drucks, we're building one of the world's first consumer footwear brands powered entirely by additive manufacturing.
Every shoe begins with an individual's feet, not a standard size or mold.
We are building the complete technology stack that makes this possible, including computational design workflows, digital manufacturing tools, custom software, proprietary manufacturing processes, and advanced FDM 3D printing.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems through parametric design and automation.
The Role
Build the Grasshopper systems that turn individual foot scans into production-ready, made-to-measure shoes.
You'll develop automated workflows that generate and manipulate 3D geometry based on individual foot measurements and manufacturing requirements.
You'll automate geometry, not model it by hand.
What You'll Do
- Build parametric Grasshopper definitions from foot scan and measurement data.
- Create reusable automation logic that works across product lines and thousands of unique fits.
- Develop automated geometry manipulation workflows for complex surfaces, meshes, and organic shapes.
- Build robust definitions that can handle variations and edge cases in foot geometry.
- Translate footwear design and manufacturing constraints into parametric rules.
- Debug complex Grasshopper definitions, including data trees, dependencies, and geometry-related errors.
- Maintain, optimize, and scale the design automation pipeline.
Must Have
- Deep hands-on experience with Grasshopper for Rhino,
including data trees, multi-stage definitions, conditional logic, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of parametric design principles and geometry automation.
- Experience building complex, reusable Grasshopper definitions rather than only basic parametric models.
- Ability to work with and manipulate curves, surfaces, meshes, and solids through Grasshopper.
- Working knowledge of Rhino 3D. Advanced manual Rhino modelling skills are not mandatory.
Good to Have
- Scripting experience with Python, GhPython, RhinoPython, or C#.
- Experience with geometry processing, computational geometry, or generative design.
- Familiarity with 3D printing, digital fabrication, or manufacturing automation.
- Experience working with 3D scan data or organic geometry.
You'll Fit If You
- Would rather build the tool that makes 1,000 shoes than model one.
- Enjoy automating repetitive design processes.
- Like solving complex logic and geometry problems.
- Enjoy hunting down data tree bugs.
- Think about building scalable systems rather than one-off solutions.
Key
This is a Grasshopper automation role, not a conventional 3D modelling, UI/UX design, graphic design, or general software development position.
Practical experience building automation workflows in Grasshopper is mandatory.
Please include examples of Grasshopper definitions or automation projects you have personally developed. Applications without relevant Grasshopper experience will not be considered.
