Our client is an established nonprofit organization with over 15 years of operational history and a broader institutional legacy spanning more than 50 years. The organization has established internal capabilities for grant administration and reporting and is looking to strengthen its proactive grant research, proposal development, and submission functions.

The objective is to build a consistent, structured grant pipeline that supports long-term funding growth and advances the organization's mission.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Grant Writer / Grant Research Specialist responsible for identifying funding opportunities, researching potential funders, developing compelling grant proposals, and managing end-to-end grant submissions.

The ideal candidate combines strong research capabilities, excellent written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple funding opportunities independently.

Key Responsibilities

- Research grant opportunities across foundations, government agencies, and institutional funders.
- Identify funding opportunities aligned with the organization's mission, programs, and strategic priorities.
- Draft, develop, and submit high-quality grant applications and fundraising proposals.
- Conduct independent research on prospective funders, eligibility criteria, deadlines, and application requirements.
- Maintain a structured pipeline of active, upcoming, and prospective grant opportunities.




- Customize proposals to meet funder requirements and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather program information, supporting documents, budgets, and reporting inputs.
- Ensure timely submissions with accurate documentation and adherence to application guidelines.
- Track application statuses, maintain submission records, and follow up on funding opportunities.
- Support the development of a repeatable and organized grant research and submission process.

Required Skills & Experience

- Proven experience in grant writing, grant research, fundraising proposals, or a related field.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to develop clear, persuasive, and compelling narratives.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations is preferred.
- Robust independent research and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify and evaluate funding opportunities based on eligibility, alignment, and potential.
- Excellent attention to detail and structured documentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
- Familiarity with the US-based grant ecosystem, foundations, and institutional funding processes is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across time zones.

Part-Time

- Workload: Approximately 10 hours per week.
- Remote position requiring alignment with California (PST/PDT) working hours.
- The candidate will integrate directly into the client's systems, including email, Microsoft Teams, and other relevant tools.
- The role operates under a structured offshore employment arrangement through an Employer of Record (EOR).
