Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Gold Tester who can accurately check the purity, authenticity, and quality of gold jewellery, coins, bars, and other gold items using different testing methods. The candidate must have practical experience in acid testing, scraping or touchstone testing, and machine-based gold purity testing.

The ideal candidate should be able to determine gold purity, assess its approximate market value, identify fake or mixed-metal jewellery, and provide accurate valuation before purchasing gold from customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform gold purity testing using acid tests, touchstone/scraping tests, and electronic or machine-based testing methods.
- Operate gold testing machines, such as XRF gold analysers, and interpret test results accurately.
- Assess the purity of gold jewellery, coins, bars, ornaments, and scrap gold.
- Identify fake gold, gold-plated items, mixed metals, and suspicious or inconsistent test results.
- Check gold karat values, including 9K, 14K, 18K, 20K, 22K, and 24K, as applicable.
- Evaluate gold weight and calculate gold value according to purity and the applicable market rate.
- Explain the testing process and valuation to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Ensure transparent and accurate valuation before making purchase offers.
- Maintain records of gold weight, purity, test results, and purchase valuations.




- Handle gold jewellery and testing equipment carefully.
- Follow safety procedures while using testing acids, chemicals, and testing machines.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure it is properly calibrated and functioning.
- Identify cases requiring additional testing before confirming the final valuation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of practical experience in gold testing, gold buying, jewellery valuation, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of acid testing and touchstone/scraping testing.
- Hands-on experience operating gold purity testing machines, preferably XRF analysers.
- Good understanding of gold purity, karat calculations, weight measurement, and valuation.
- Ability to identify counterfeit, plated, and mixed-metal gold items.
- Knowledge of current gold market rates and gold valuation calculations.
- High attention to detail, honesty, and accuracy.
- Positive customer-handling and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make reliable testing assessments.

Preferred Candidate We prefer a candidate who can independently handle the complete gold testing and valuation process, from initial inspection to final purity assessment and purchase valuation, using multiple testing methods rather than relying on only one technique.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
