About the RoleWe are looking for a Founding AI Engineer & Solution Architect who combines strong hands-on software engineering skills, AI development expertise, end-to-end solution architecture, and client-facing technical consulting.

Working directly with the founders, you will own the technical lifecycle of client projects and internal initiatives—from understanding business requirements and defining system architecture to building AI-powered applications, integrating enterprise systems, and deploying production-ready solutions.

You will evaluate technologies, make architectural decisions, develop critical components, establish engineering standards, and create reusable technical accelerators that help Sapiogen AI deliver solutions efficiently and reliably.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who can think like a Solution Architect, build like a Senior Engineer, and operate like a Forward Deployed Engineer.

Key Responsibilities1.

Solution

Architecture &

• Technical Consulting

- Lead technical discovery sessions to understand client objectives, existing systems, workflows, and technical constraints.
- Translate business requirements into solution architectures, technical specifications, implementation roadmaps, and deployment plans.
- Design end-to-end architectures for AI applications, SaaS platforms, enterprise systems, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Select appropriate programming languages, frameworks, AI models, databases, cloud services, and integration patterns.
- Prepare architecture diagrams, data-flow diagrams, API specifications, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, scalability, security, implementation costs, and technical risks.
- Present technical solutions and architectural trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support technical proposals, project estimates, proof-of-concept planning, and solution demonstrations.

2. AI Engineering & • Intelligent Systems
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications using commercial LLM APIs and open-source models.
- Build systems using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, structured outputs, tool calling, and agentic workflows.
- Develop AI agents, knowledge assistants, document intelligence solutions, and intelligent business workflows.
- Implement conversational AI, voice AI, and AI-driven automation based on client requirements.
- Integrate AI capabilities with existing software, business applications, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
- Evaluate model quality, accuracy, latency, reliability, and inference costs.
- Implement appropriate AI evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, error handling, and fallback mechanisms.




- Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through AI-assisted development and automation.

3. Hands-on Software Engineering
- Develop production-ready backend services, APIs, database layers, integrations, and application components.
- Build applications using Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript with appropriate modern frameworks.
- Work with technologies such as FastAPI, Django, Node.js, NestJS, React, and Next.js, depending on project requirements.
- Design modular, maintainable software systems using suitable architectural patterns and engineering principles.
- Integrate third-party APIs, CRMs, ERPs, databases, payment systems, and other enterprise platforms.
- Implement automated testing, debugging, code reviews, and quality assurance practices.
- Take ownership of critical technical components and resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Convert prototypes and proofs of concept into secure, maintainable, production-ready applications.

Forward Deployed

Engineering &

• Client Implementation
- Work directly with clients to identify high-value use cases and translate operational challenges into deployable solutions.
- Rapidly prototype ideas to validate technical feasibility and demonstrate business value.
- Integrate solutions into existing customer workflows, applications, infrastructure, and data environments.
- Adapt implementations to client-specific requirements involving security, access controls, data privacy, and deployment constraints.
- Troubleshoot production issues, improve system performance, and ensure successful implementation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate requirements, gather feedback, and continuously improve delivered solutions.
- Ensure technical deliverables address the original business problem rather than merely satisfy development specifications.

Infrastructure, DevOps &
- Security

- Design and deploy applications on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
- Implement authentication, authorization, secrets management, and appropriate access controls.
- Establish logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, and application observability.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure, database performance, application responsiveness, and AI inference costs.
- Apply appropriate security, backup, reliability, and data-protection practices throughout the software lifecycle.

Technical

Leadership &

• Founding-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the founders to establish Sapiogen AI's technical direction and engineering capabilities.
- Define architecture guidelines, coding standards, development workflows, and code review practices.
- Build reusable components, integration templates, internal tools, and AI engineering accelerators.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and AI development tools based on their practical business value.
- Estimate implementation effort, identify dependencies, assess technical risks, and support project planning.
- Guide future engineers, review technical decisions, and establish scalable engineering practices as the team grows.




- Identify recurring client challenges that could become reusable platforms, proprietary products, or new service offerings.

Required Skills & • QualificationsAI &

- LLM Engineering

- Practical experience building applications using OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or equivalent LLM platforms.
- Strong understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector search, prompt engineering, structured outputs, and tool calling.
- Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent AI orchestration approaches.
- Understanding of AI evaluation, hallucination mitigation, application security, and production reliability.

Software Engineering & Architecture

- Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience designing backend services, REST APIs, database schemas, and third-party integrations.
- Working knowledge of FastAPI, Django, Node.js, NestJS, or comparable frameworks.
- Familiarity with React or Next.js and modern full-stack application development.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and familiarity with caching, queues, and vector databases.
- Ability to design scalable, maintainable systems and explain architectural decisions clearly.

Cloud & Deployment

- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Working knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, Git, automated testing, and production deployments.
- Understanding of application security, authentication, monitoring, and infrastructure optimization.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AI consulting, enterprise software, product engineering, or technology services.
- Experience presenting technical solutions to clients and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience delivering production AI applications, not only experimental prototypes.
- Exposure to voice AI, agentic systems, intelligent automation, enterprise integrations, or legacy modernization.
- Experience with architecture documentation, technical estimation, system design, and solution reviews.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot.
