Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Unkapped, you are the technical tip of the spear. You will sit inside our clients' teams and tech stacks (CRM, ERP, data warehouses, cloud infrastructure), translating messy real-world business bottlenecks into clean, automated production systems. You’ll design context-aware AI workflows, fix data foundations, build custom integrations, and ship code weekly that directly impacts our clients' bottom-line revenue and operational efficiency.

What you will Do (Responsibilities)

- Parachute Into Client Stacks: Embed directly within enterprise client environments (HubSpot, Salesforce, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/GCP, etc.) to understand their unique data and operational workflows.
- Architect & Build Applied AI Systems: Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI co-worker agents, data pipelines, and enrichment workflows with human-in-the-loop review gates.
- Own the Deployment Lifecycle: Take end-to-end ownership from initial data/readiness audits and architecture sign-offs to weekly production shipping and rigorous evaluation testing.
- Bridge Strategy & Code: Translate complex business requirements from enterprise leadership into secure, scalable technical architectures while maintaining data governance and permissioning.
- Handoff & Enablement: Ensure seamless transition by creating comprehensive runbooks, training internal client owners, and establishing continuous evaluation loops upon handoff.
- Drive Product Feedback:



Feed real-world edge cases and technical constraints back into Unkapped’s core engineering practices to refine how we build systems at scale.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

- Engineering Excellence: 5+ years of software engineering, systems architecture, or data engineering experience with a track record of shipping production code.
- Stack Versatility: Strong proficiency in contemporary backend development (Python, TypeScript, Node.js) and working with databases, APIs, and complex data flows.
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP (any one is fine). Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Ecosystem Familiarity: Experience working with modern GTM or cloud data stacks (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Snowflake, Databricks, Clay, LangChain, or major cloud providers).
- Security & Scalability: Experience designing secure, scalable, and reliable enterprise systems is a plus.
- High Agency & Communication: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguous enterprise environments and communicate seamlessly with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Systems Thinking: Deep understanding of data integrity, permissioning models, reliability, and security compliance in enterprise architectures.
- Business Understanding & Communication: Strong technical execution (60%), business understanding (30%), and communication skills (10%). Ability to understand business problems and translate them into practical technical solutions.
