Position Title: Field Engineer

Department: Network Operations

JOB PURPOSE To install, configure, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and telecom network equipment at field locations. The role involves conducting site visits, resolving network issues, supporting operations, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure reliable network connectivity and timely service restoration.

- Customers and site representatives

- Network Operations / NOC Team
- Field Operations Team
- Technical Support Team
- Other relevant internal teams

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Daily activities that Field Engineer will be expected to undertake include:

- Install and commission Wi-Fi equipment and network devices at designated sites.
- Configure routers, ONTs and other networking equipment.
- Conduct field visits for network installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Identify and resolve connectivity issues and ensure timely fault resolution.
- Support installation and maintenance activities, wherever required.
- Perform routine network checks and ensure the proper functioning of installed equipment.
- Coordinate with the NOC and technical teams for issue escalation and resolution.
- Provide technical support to customers and address service-related issues.
- Maintain records of site visits, installation activities, faults and resolutions.




- Follow company procedures and applicable safety guidelines during field operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

- BE/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication (ECE), Electrical (EEE), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CSE), or a relevant Diploma.
- 2–3 years of experience in networking, Wi-Fi or telecom operations.
- Practical knowledge of Wi-Fi installation, router/ONT configuration and network troubleshooting.
- Experience in FTTH installation and maintenance will be an advantage.
- Good problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
- Must own a two-wheeler for field visits.

- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and applying them effectively in a customer-facing environment.
- Valuable verbal and written communication skills in both English and Hindi.
- Proactive, self-motivated and solution-oriented, with a strong focus on timely and effective task completion.
- Positive, open and trustworthy communication with customers and internal teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide clear, step-by-step technical assistance, both verbally and in writing.

WORK INFORMATION

- Working Hours: As per operational requirements.
- Working Environment: Primarily field-based, involving site visits and outdoor work.
- Working Location: Assigned operational sites in Almora or Pithoragarh
- Travel: Extensive local travel may be required for site visits, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
