Role Description: The ESG & Sustainability Consultant will support clients in designing and implementing ESG and sustainability strategies aligned with industry standards and organisational goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Act as a sustainability subject matter expert on projects for Indian companies, providing advisory support on ESG & Sustainability reporting, Monitoring, and implementation.
- Support stakeholder engagement on sustainability topics, including participating in meetings with clients, their employees, investors, and other relevant stakeholders; responding to due diligence questionnaires; and addressing other client requests.
- Contribute to developing and implementing the Company’s sustainability strategy and target operating model, including related policies and processes.
- Support sustainability governance across the companies, including non-financial reporting and audit, target monitoring and sustainability risk controls.
- Monitor and interpret sustainability regulations relevant to Indian companies, and support their implementation, including EU requirements.




- Support ESG data collection methodologies and quality control.
- Support the use and application of sustainability tools and frameworks.
- Contribute to bids and pitch presentations, and knowledge sharing across the organisation.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional client teams, interpreting regulatory and voluntary framework requirements, and presenting clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders. The consultant will also help develop tools, methodologies, and internal knowledge resources that strengthen Greenex’s service offerings. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune District.

Qualifications

- Strong sustainability consulting and general consulting skills, including experience advising organisations on ESG and sustainable development strategies.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting, with familiarity with relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., ESG metrics, GRI, industry-specific guidelines).
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including data interpretation, quantitative analysis, and translating findings into practical recommendations.
- Knowledge of sustainable development concepts, environmental impact assessment, and current trends in corporate sustainability and climate action.
- Relevant academic background in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, management, or a related field.
- Exposure to ESG strategy discussions at board or senior leadership level
- Sound working knowledge of ESG frameworks — BRSR, GRI, GHG Protocol, CDP, EcoVadis, TCFD, CSRD/ESRS




- Certifications such as GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, ISSP-SA, LEED/IGBC AP, ISO 14001/50001 Lead Auditor or GHG Accounting are strongly preferred
- Solid ground-level data discipline — knows where a number comes from before reporting it
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly in written reports and client presentations.
- Comfort working on-site with client and internal teams in the Pune District, with strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with carbon footprint calculations or ESG data platforms is an advantage; professional certifications in sustainability or ESG are beneficial.

- Able to work across company- and group-level sustainability topics.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Relevant university degree.
- Fluent in English. Other linguistic proficiency is encouraged.
