Role Description This is a full time, on-site role for an Electrical Estimation Engineer based in Chennai. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical works, including analyzing drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop accurate BOQs and project budgets.

The Electrical Estimation

Engineer will review tender documents, coordinate with design and project teams, and seek clarifications to ensure precise estimation. Day-to-day tasks include conducting market research for material and labor rates, evaluating vendor quotations,



and assisting in negotiations to achieve cost-effective solutions. The role also includes supporting project planning, preparing technical and commercial proposals, updating estimate databases, and collaborating with stakeholders to align estimates with project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in BOQ preparation and project estimation for electrical works.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Civil Engineering and related construction practices to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Candidates should possess effective negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess solid research skills to gather and analyze market rates, technical data, and project-related information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline); additional certification in estimation or project management is an advantage.
- Experience in electrical estimation within construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects, preferably in the regional market.
- Proficiency in estimation software, MS Excel, and reading technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work to deadlines in a quick-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
