Designation: Head of Department (HOD) Instrumentation & Electrical

Industry: Manufacturing (Iron/Lime/Dolomite)

Experience: 10-15 years (preferred)

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the instrumentation and automation department across the plant.
- Ensure preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all instrumentation systems.
- Manage PLC, DCS, SCADA, and control systems used in cement manufacturing.
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of transmitters, sensors, flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, and control valves.
- Ensure the smooth operation of instrumentation systems in the kiln, raw mill, coal mill, cement mill, packing plant, and material-handling systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot field instruments, control panels, VFDs, and automation equipment.
- Plan annual maintenance budgets, spare-parts inventory, and procurement requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Electrical, Mechanical, and Process departments to minimize plant downtime.
- Lead and develop the instrumentation team, including engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures,



maintenance standards, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain equipment history, breakdown reports, calibration records, and maintenance documentation.
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and service providers for technical support and upgrades.

Required Skills
- Robust knowledge of cement plant instrumentation and automation.
- Hands-on experience with PLC/DCS systems, such as Siemens, ABB, or Schneider, depending on plant setup.
- Knowledge of kiln automation, burner control, interlocks, and process control.
- Expertise in troubleshooting field instruments and control systems.
- Maintenance planning, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong coordination with cross-functional plant departments.

- Timely completion of preventive maintenance and calibration.
