Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced EDI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Healthcare EDI, Edifecs, Java, SQL, Azure, and AI-assisted development . The role will focus on Edifecs implementation, upgrades, maintenance, and enhancement of healthcare EDI applications and features.

The developer will collaborate with Product, Business, QE, and application teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions through development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, implement, upgrade, and maintain Edifecs-based Healthcare EDI solutions .
- Create and update maps, guidelines, and profiles using Edifecs SpecBuilder, MapBuilder, and EAM .
- Develop XML, DFF, and PFF maps and guidelines for Healthcare EDI transactions.
- Work extensively with 270/271, 820, 834, 837 I/P/D, and 835 HIPAA transactions .
- Configure and onboard Trading Partners within Edifecs.
- Implement new Lines of Business (LOBs) when current markets are introduced.
- Perform configuration changes in Edifecs Engine configuration files for Trading Partner-specific validations.
- Configure Severity files to support custom error validations.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve transmission issues using Edifecs Transaction Manager .
- Develop and support solutions using Java, SQL, APIs, integration technologies, and Groovy Script .
- Troubleshoot application and integration issues and work with QE teams on testing and defect resolution.
- Coordinate with other application teams throughout development, integration, testing,



and deployment.
- Communicate technical solutions, issues, and fixes effectively to business and technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

- At least 4+ years to 8 years of hands-on experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Healthcare EDI development and integrations .
- Strong experience in Edifecs implementation, upgrades, maintenance, and enhancements .
- Hands-on experience with Edifecs Healthcare 9.x Suite .
- Experience with SpecBuilder, MapBuilder, EAM, and Transaction Manager .
- Strong understanding of HIPAA/Healthcare EDI transactions , including 270/271, 820, 834, 837 I/P/D, and 835 .
- Experience working with Healthcare Payer systems and associated EDI workflows.
- Strong hands-on development experience in Java and SQL .
- Experience with APIs and integration technologies .
- Experience developing Groovy Scripts .
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps .
- Strong understanding of technical and business considerations associated with EDI product upgrades .
- Experience working in an Agile development environment .
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills .
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools , such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar tools .

Preferred / Good to Have

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git/GitHub .
- Exposure to automated testing .
- Experience modernizing or enhancing existing EDI applications .
- Experience supporting EDI applications across development, testing, deployment, and maintenance .
