As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves designing and developing tailored software solutions that enhance various system components. The role requires working closely with different teams to ensure the software meets specific business requirements. The engineer actively participates in iterative development cycles, focusing on delivering scalable and efficient applications.
Collaboration and continuous improvement are key aspects, as the engineer refines code and integrates current features to support evolving project goals and organizational needs.
- Sample Manager LIMS technical support including admin and configuration tasks.
- Last hands-on Sample manager/LabVantage was prior to 3 years ago, worked for L2 support, troubleshooting batch / sample login issues which mostly got resolved by data correction /service s restart. No mention of workflow spy, test harness.
- Change management experience – Adding users in Sample manager
- Patching support experience– co-ordinate downtime with infra team. Take down the application - let infra team patch - startup and sanity.
- Instrument integration experience
- Could not discuss in detail.
- Data migration and reconciliation activities
- Used a proprietary migration tool from her employer to migrate Labware data from V5 to V8.
- Could not name any key tables in labware like server action, sample, table master etc.
- Current data migration project is getting site data in Excel - convert to CSV - upload to Starlims. Troubleshoot minor issues in data.
- External system integrations
- Has built parsers, has working experience with data grid.
- Oracle database experience (SQL queries)
