Gandhinagar, Gujarat · Full time, work from office · CTC ₹15 LPA+ (base, premium and bonus)
Own client delivery for an Australian finance broking firm. You lead the team that carries every loan file from first application to settlement, and you carry the complex files yourself. For a senior loan processor or credit lead with five or more years in lending, ideally on Australian mortgages, and real experience leading people.
Applications close Sunday 1st November 2026.
WHO YOU WOULD BE JOINING
Prevail Finance is a boutique Australian finance broking firm, founded in Melbourne in 2017 and working Australia-wide under Australian Credit Licence 509527. A finance broker arranges loans for clients from a panel of lenders; ours has more than 65. We arrange complex residential, business acquisition, commercial property, SMSF commercial, development and construction, and debt restructure lending. Four people today. You would lead the part of the firm that delivers every loan we write.
Established in 2017, Melbourne. Transaction range $400k–$10M+ AUD. 65+ lenders on panel. 50+ five-star Google reviews.
Priyank Thakkar, Founder — he assessed and approved business loans as a bank Lending Manager and Commercial Credit Analyst before he started arranging them. Master of Commerce (Professional Accounting), twelve years in lending, and still developing property himself. What you learn here is current practice, not textbook theory.
Member — Finance Brokers Association of Australia, Australian Institute of Business Brokers, SMSF Association.
Where and when — Gandhinagar, Gujarat, alongside our existing Gandhinagar team. Ahmedabad and areas within about 30 km are within commuting distance; you do not need to relocate. Monday to Saturday, on Australian business hours: an early-morning start and an afternoon finish, IST.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Client delivery, end to end. Every active file has a clear status, an owner and a next action, and every loan settles on time, to standard. You report directly to the founder. As the firm grows, a General Manager will be appointed and this role will report to them. Advice to clients is given by the licence holder, not by this role.
You lead — a senior loan processor with almost five years on our files, a client experience coordinator who handles onboarding, document collection and client updates, a junior processor you will help choose, and whoever joins the team next.
Your week — about 60% your own files and 40% leading, until the junior processor is productive. Then 40% files and 60% leading. The split is written into your role agreement.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the pipeline. Allocate every file by priority, capacity and capability, with a named owner, a next action and a due date. Run the weekly pipeline review and raise settlement risk early.
Carry the complex files. Personally manage complex applications from handover to settlement: self-employed, company and trust borrowers, and business and commercial lending as you learn it.
Hold the quality line. Review documents, servicing inputs and application readiness before anything reaches a lender, and confirm every file passes its required checks: customer identity (VOI), anti-money-laundering (AML/CTF) and Australian credit rules (NCCP, Best Interests Duty).
Work the lenders. Research policy, resolve lender queries, and work with relationship managers on pricing requests, policy exceptions,
conditions and valuations.
Lead the people. Set clear standards for quality, communication and turnaround. Coach, review work, and hold the accountability conversation yourself when a standard slips.
Grow the team. Own your team’s training and development, sit on the panel for every hire into your team, and build the training that makes a new processor independent.
Fix what repeats. When the same problem comes back twice, find the cause and change the workflow so it stops.
Escalate well. Decide within your agreed authority. Bring material risks to the founder early, with the facts, the action already taken and your recommended next step.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Five or more years in mortgage or credit processing, in any market, owning complex files end to end.
Real experience leading people: allocating work, coaching, and holding colleagues to a standard, with or without the title.
Australian residential mortgage processing, end-to-end, is preferred. US or UK mortgage experience, or other credit processing, is also welcome; we will train you on Australian lending.
Australian business, commercial, SMSF or construction lending, ApplyOnline and Australian lender portals are an advantage. We use SalesTrekker as our CRM and will train you on it.
A degree in accounting, finance, commerce or banking.
Clear written and spoken English: you will write file notes and speak with Australian lenders every day.
Experience gets your CV read. Judgement gets you the job. We hire people who check carefully and then move, make the call within their authority, and can hold a colleague to a standard both kindly and directly.
WHO THRIVES HERE
You are accurate by habit, and quick to move once the checks are done. You are comfortable making the call within your authority. You are patient when teaching, direct when a standard slips, and calm when two settlements are at risk on the same morning.
You are not waiting to be told what comes next, redoing work yourself instead of teaching someone to do it right, letting a missed standard slide to keep the peace, or sending routine decisions up to the founder.
WHAT YOU GET FROM US
Real authority, in writing. What you decide alone, what you consult on and what you escalate: a starter version in your role agreement before your first day, finalised with the founder by day 30.
A structured 90-day onboarding. Our check-ins step back as you take ownership.
Training on whatever you have not done yet: Australian lending, business and commercial files, and our systems. Paid for by the firm.
Direct access to the founder, who assessed these loans inside the banks before he ever arranged one.
A team to build. You help choose your first hire.
What we cannot train is the wanting to. That part you bring.
HOW WE WORK
You will not be chased. You are given a result to achieve, the authority to achieve it, and the resources you need. Nobody checks whether you have started. You are expected to start.
The checklist is the minimum, not the maximum. Following the process is the basic requirement of the role.
We need people who notice what the checklist missed and fix it before anyone asks.
Your work is measured. Turnaround time, compliance completeness, on-time settlements and client experience are reviewed every week, openly, in front of the whole team. For this role, so is how your team performs.
PAY
CTC ₹15 LPA+, including base, premium and bonus: a top-of-market package for the right person.
Base — for holding the role and meeting its standard.
Premium — as you develop and deliver at a higher level.
Bonus — for clearing a specific, difficult, time-bound project.
Most of it is fixed base salary, by design, because compliance work must never be influenced by a bonus. The final figure is benchmarked and agreed individually, and we discuss it openly at the first conversation.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply on LinkedIn, then email your CV, your current location, your notice period and your answers to the three questions below to
[email protected]. A paragraph each is enough. Write them yourself, in your own words.
Subject line: Credit Team Leader – your name
One. Tell us about a loan file that was stuck or at risk of missing settlement, and that you personally turned around. What was wrong, what did you do, and what happened?
Two. Tell us about a time you held a colleague to a standard they were not meeting. What did you say, what did you do next, and what happened?
Three. Tell us one thing in this advertisement you disagree with, or would do differently. Tell us why.
Question three is not a trick. It is the answer we read first.
Both steps count. Applications without the emailed answers are not assessed.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Applications are read in the order they arrive, so earlier is better.
Every applicant receives a reply, including those not selected.
Shortlisted applicants are contacted within a week of the closing date for a 15-minute call, then an interview with the founder that includes a short practical exercise. If we receive many robust applications, we may first ask for a two-minute audio recording.
On appointment, a written role agreement covering title, responsibilities, authority and pay structure is provided before you start.
The first three months are a window to show the role is working, for both sides. If it is not, we part ways positively and without drama.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
What success looks like, so you can judge us against it too.
By day 30: you know every live file and its next step, the weekly pipeline review is yours, and your decision rights are signed off in writing.
By day 60: you hold standards conversations without the founder in the room, and you have helped choose the junior processor.
By day 90: the founder no longer chases files or allocates work, check-ins have moved to exceptions only, and your first workflow fix is live.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
Background check — this role leads the team that handles client credit files, so appointment requires a police check and clearance against ASIC’s banned and disqualified persons register. Standard for the industry, arranged by the firm.
Fair assessment — every application is assessed against the same standard. We do not discriminate on age, gender, background, family responsibilities, or anything else with no bearing on the work.
If this reads like a description of how you already work, we would like to hear from you.
