- Querying physical and logical files.
- Data lineage analysis.
- Mapping file fields back to DB2 source tables.

RPG Development
- Read and understand RPGLE and RPG programs.
- Trace how outbound files are built.
- Identify field derivations and business logic.
- Understand file creation and update processes.

CL Programming
- Analyse CL programs controlling batch execution.
- Understand scheduling and job dependencies.
- Trace program flow between jobs and Connect:Direct processes.

Job Scheduling / Operations
- IBM Job Scheduler.
- Robot Scheduler (if used).
- Batch chains and dependencies.
- Critical processing windows.

Connect:Direct Administration
- Understanding of Connect:Direct process definitions.
- PNODE/SNODE relationships.
- Transfer directions.
- Process logs and execution history.
- Identifying source and target datasets.

Key Activities include:





- Create a complete inventory of all Connect:Direct and SFTP file feeds.
- Identify which files are sent and received by each interface.
- Analyse file layouts, record structures and field definitions.
- Map every file field back to the originating data source.
- Identify the RPG, CL or batch processes that create and process the files.
- Document job schedules, dependencies and operational processes.
- Analyse Connect:Direct process definitions, transfer routes and execution history.
- Determine which Avaloq functions consume each feed and the associated business purpose.
- Produce end-to-end data lineage.
- Complete impact assessments and migration artefacts for the programme.
- Feed inventory and interface catalogue.
- Source-to-target field mapping.
- Program and batch dependency analysis.
