: Automotive Interior Designer (Styling)

About the RoleMaruti Suzuki is looking for creative and technically proficient Automotive Interior Designers (Styling) to join our design studio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in automotive or industrial design, with a passion for shaping vehicle cabin experiences—from initial 2D sketches and rapid 3D volumetric models to occupant packaging and clay model coordination.

Note: This role strictly requires automotive styling or industrial design expertise. Candidates from civil, architectural, or residential/commercial interior decoration backgrounds are not eligible.

Role Distribution & Experience Criteria

- Mid-Level Designers: 2 to 5 years of relevant design experience.
- Senior / Team Lead Designer: 6 to 7+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating end-to-end execution maturity, leadership capability, and direct interface experience with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Concept Ideation & Freehand Sketching: Deliver rapid ideation sketches using Adobe Photoshop covering vehicle cockpits, instrument panels (IP), door trims, seats, steering wheels, and center consoles.
- Interior Packaging & Ergonomics: Apply a comprehensive understanding of automotive occupant packaging, visibility envelopes, tactile driver ergonomics, and manufacturing clearance integration.
- 3D Digital Concept Modelling: Translate 2D conceptual renders into quick 3D digital surfaces and volumetric proportion models in Blender for rapid design verification.




- Execution & Clay Model Coordination (Senior Profiles): Guide clay modelers directly, assist in converting aesthetic surfaces to Class-A/CAS surfaces, and interface seamlessly with vehicle engineering teams.

Candidate Eligibility & Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: Mandatory Bachelor of Design (B.Des) or Master of Design (M.Des), with a preference for degrees specifically in Automotive or Industrial Design.
- Software Tooling Proficiency: Robust command over Blender (for rapid 3D concept data) and Photoshop (for sketching and rendering). Familiarity with clay modeling and CAD engineering data is required.
- Mandatory Portfolio Submission: Candidates must submit an automotive sketch portfolio demonstrating interior cockpit concepts and trims. Resumes submitted without an automotive portfolio will be automatically rejected.

- Direct Automotive OEMs: Core design studios at domestic and global vehicle manufacturers (e.g., Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Renault-Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Honda).
- Tier-1 / Tier-2 Suppliers: Specialized interior component vendors supplying instrument panels, consoles, and seats to automotive OEMs (e.g., Uno Minda, Motherson, Yanfeng, Faurecia).
- Mobility Design Studios: Transportation and industrial product design consultancies engaged in automotive styling, concept vehicle prototypes, and digital modeling projects.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
