OB DESCRIPTION – AUTOCAD DESIGNER

Department: Design / Engineering

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 2–5 Years

Software: AutoCAD; knowledge of 3D CAD software is an added advantage.

1. Job Summary

Responsible for preparing accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, and sheet metal fabrication drawings based on customer requirements and engineering specifications. Ensure design accuracy, proper documentation, and coordination with production and quality teams.
1. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare 2D engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
- Develop sheet metal fabrication drawings, flat patterns, bending details, and assembly drawings.
- Read and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Calculate dimensions, tolerances, bend allowances, and material requirements.
- Prepare component drawings, fabrication layouts, and bill of materials (BOM) as required.
- Ensure drawings comply with design standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering departments to resolve technical issues.
- Modify and revise drawings based on customer feedback and engineering changes.
- Support production teams in resolving drawing-related and fabrication issues.




- Maintain drawing records, revision history, and document control.
- Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing, with minimum material wastage and efficient production methods.

1. Required Skills

- Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting and drawing standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
- Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T.;
- Knowledge of flat pattern development and bend allowance calculations.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office and 3D CAD software is an added advantage.

- Accuracy and quality of engineering drawings.
- Timely completion of drawings as per project schedules.
- Minimum drawing errors and revision-related issues.
- Compliance with customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Effective coordination with production and other departments.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
