Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, maintaining service quality, and ensuring excellent guest satisfaction. The candidate will assist with staff supervision, inventory control, sales performance, cost management, and compliance with restaurant standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Restaurant Manager in managing daily restaurant operations.

- Supervise service staff, including captains, stewards, waiters, and other team members.

- Monitor staff attendance, grooming, punctuality, discipline, and performance.

- Ensure high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.

- Handle customer feedback, enquiries, and complaints professionally.

- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service.

- Monitor table arrangements, reservations, order taking, and dining-area readiness.

- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and restaurant SOPs.

- Assist in staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance monitoring.

- Prepare staff duty rosters and coordinate shift scheduling.

- Monitor inventory, stock levels, and consumption of food, beverages, and operating supplies.

- Assist with purchasing, stock reconciliation, and reducing wastage.

- Monitor POS billing, cash handling, daily sales reports, and payment procedures.

- Support sales growth through upselling, promotions, and customer engagement.

- Help control operational costs and maintain service efficiency.

- Ensure restaurant equipment, furniture, and service areas are clean and well maintained.

- Assist with restaurant opening and closing procedures.





- Coordinate with vendors and other departments when required.

- Prepare daily operational reports and communicate issues to the Restaurant Manager.

- Take charge of restaurant operations in the Restaurant Manager’s absence.

Requirements

- Graduate or Diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.

- 2–4 years of experience in restaurant, hotel, café, or food and beverage operations.

- Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, or Restaurant Captain preferred.

- Good understanding of restaurant operations, food and beverage service, and guest handling.

- Basic knowledge of POS systems, billing, inventory management, and sales reporting.

- Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills.

- Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve operational issues.

- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and service standards.

- Good organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

- Professional grooming and a customer-oriented approach.

- Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
