Job purpose & Scope

Responsible for Inspection & quality assurance at vendor’s end - required for T&D; BU

Major Areas of Responsibilities

· Conduct inspections of various electrical and structural materials including cables, conductors, transformers, control & relay panels, GIS, Switchgear, MS steel structures, junction boxes, insulators, and hardware components.

· Perform vendor assessments, capability evaluations, and process audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

· Possess sound knowledge of quality improvement tools and practices such as Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S,



and Quality Management Systems (QMS); responsible for conducting related training at vendor locations.

· Support vendors in enhancing their manufacturing processes and improving overall product quality.

· Address material quality concerns in collaboration with vendors, initiate corrective actions, and monitor their implementation.

· Gather feedback from project sites on material-related complaints, analyze root causes, and facilitate corrective actions at the vendor’s end.

· Coordinate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and site teams to understand their quality expectations and provide necessary support.

· Deliver training sessions to vendor personnel on critical manufacturing and quality processes.

· Actively involved in IT & software related development work related to quality department.

· Review and analyze tender documents to extract and summarize Quality Assurance (QA) requirements.

Person Specifications

Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering

Desired Qualification: Engineering Graduate

Experience: 8-10 yrs. In the field of QA / Inspection / Testing

Industry Preference: Third party Inspection C&R; Panels, Switchgear, GIS (Industry type- GE, Hitachi, ABB, Schnieder etc.)

Any specific requirement

Critical: Willingness to travel frequently for inspections, vendor visits, and site-related quality activities from the base location.
