Role Description The Algebra Mentor is a full-time remote role focused on helping students understand and apply core algebra concepts. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering online tutoring sessions, explaining topics such as variables, equations, inequalities, functions, and word problems in a clear and engaging manner. The mentor will assess student understanding, provide individualized feedback, and adjust teaching strategies based on learning progress.

Responsibilities also include creating or adapting practice exercises, monitoring student performance, maintaining accurate session notes, and collaborating with the EdifyChamps team to improve learning resources and student outcomes.

Qualifications





- Strong knowledge of algebra, including foundational and intermediate concepts, and the ability to explain them clearly to learners at different levels.
- Demonstrated tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience in mathematics, preferably in an online or virtual classroom environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, patience, and the ability to break down complex ideas into simple, understandable steps.
- Comfort with online teaching tools and platforms, including video conferencing, digital whiteboards, and learning management systems.
- Ability to design or adapt practice problems, lesson plans, and learning materials to meet individual student needs.
- Strong organizational skills and reliability in managing a consistent full-time schedule and documenting sessions and progress.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in math tutoring or teaching.
- Commitment to a supportive, inclusive, and non-discriminatory learning environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
