Job Purpose: The Shift Engineer is responsible for supporting the Shift Incharge in managing and overseeing all operational activities during the assigned shift in iron ore mining. This role involves closely monitoring equipment performance, assisting in the coordination of drilling, blasting, loading, and transportation activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.



The Shift Engineer plays a crucial role in executing the mining plan, resolving operational issues, and providing technical support to the shift team.

Responsibilities

• Shift Management and Coordination

Oversee and manage all mining activities during the assigned shift, including drilling, blasting, loading, and transportation of ore.

Coordinate with the mine planning, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure all activities are aligned with the overall mining plan and schedules.

Monitor the performance of equipment and personnel, ensuring that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.

• Safety and Compliance

Enforce safety protocols and procedures during all mining operations, ensuring compliance with the Mines Act and other relevant regulations.

Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety among all shift personnel.
