Role Description The Medical Coding Specialist role is a part time, on-site position based in Delhi, India. The specialist will review medical records and documentation, assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes, and ensure accurate translation of clinical information into standardized coding formats. Daily tasks include verifying the completeness and accuracy of patient data, applying medical terminology and coding guidelines, and collaborating with healthcare and administrative teams to resolve discrepancies. The role also involves maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, supporting billing and reimbursement processes, and contributing to quality assurance initiatives related to coded data. The Medical Coding Specialist is expected to maintain confidentiality, follow organizational policies, and support continuous improvement in health information management practices.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated Medical Coding and Coding Experience skills,



with the ability to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes.
• Knowledge of Health Information Management practices, including record-keeping standards and data integrity.
• Strong understanding of Medical Terminology and clinical documentation to interpret and code patient encounters correctly.
• Relevant credential such as RHIT or equivalent certification in health information or medical coding.
• Attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work with electronic health record systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage part-time on-site workload efficiently.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Formal training or coursework in medical coding, health information management, or a related healthcare discipline is preferred.
