About the Role

We’re looking for an Assistant Video Editor who enjoys the art of storytelling and understands how the right edit can bring a story to life.

In this remote, contract role, you’ll work alongside our lead editors and creative team to shape raw footage into engaging, polished videos. From organizing footage and building rough cuts to making final adjustments, adding simple motion graphics, and preparing exports, you’ll be involved in the details that make a video work.

You’ll help ensure every edit feels consistent with the client’s brand, meets the project’s creative vision, and is delivered to the right standard and on time. We’re looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, open to feedback, and excited to learn and grow while contributing to meaningful visual projects.

What You’ll Do

Bring footage together: Organize and manage raw footage, audio, graphics, and project assets so everything is easy to find and ready to use.

Build engaging edits: Assemble rough cuts, refine sequences, and help shape the flow and pacing of videos under the guidance of lead editors.

Polish the visuals: Apply basic colour correction, make visual adjustments, and add simple motion graphics and graphic elements where needed.

Stay true to the brand: Ensure edits, titles, transitions,



and other visual elements align with each client’s brand guidelines and creative direction.

Prepare projects for review: Create review-ready versions, incorporate feedback, and keep project files and revisions well organized.

Deliver with confidence: Export videos in the required formats, resolutions, aspect ratios, and codecs for different platforms and audiences.

Work as a team: Collaborate with editors, creative directors, and production teams to maintain quality, meet deadlines, and keep projects moving smoothly.

Keep improving: Learn from feedback, follow established workflows, and look for ways to make the editing process more efficient.

What We’re Looking For An understanding of video production and editing, with hands-on experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software.

An eye for visual storytelling, pacing, composition, and detail.

Basic skills in colour correction, colour grading, and motion graphics.

The ability to work with graphics and visual elements while maintaining consistency with brand guidelines.

Familiarity with video formats, codecs, aspect ratios, and export settings for web and social media platforms.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a remote work environment.

Clear communication skills, a cooperative attitude, and a willingness to take direction and incorporate feedback.

A proactive mindset, a sense of responsibility, and an eagerness to keep learning.

A background in film, media, design, or a related field is a plus. A portfolio or showreel showcasing your editing work is strongly preferred.
