Role Description The Tool Maker - Machining and Sheet Metal role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The individual in this role will manufacture, assemble, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for machining and sheet metal operations. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting engineering drawings, setting up and operating conventional and CNC machines, and performing fabrication, fitting, and finishing work on sheet metal components.

The role also involves inspecting tools and parts for accuracy,



performing preventive maintenance on tooling, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve tooling issues and improve processes.

The Tool

Maker will ensure that all work complies with quality, safety, and organizational standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust skills in precision machining, including operation of conventional machines (lathe, milling, grinding) and basic CNC machining.
- Candidates should possess skills in sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, forming, and basic welding or joining techniques.
- Candidates should possess skills in tool, die, jig, and fixture making, including assembly, fitting, and finishing for production readiness.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geometric tolerances.
- Candidates should possess skills in measurement and inspection using instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Relevant technical qualification such as ITI, Diploma, or equivalent in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in precision machining or sheet metal for aerospace, medical, or industrial sectors.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with production documentation or ERP systems
