About Excelra
Excelra is a science-led, data-driven outcomes company with more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life-sciences sector. Our Lab Informatics practice combines deep scientific expertise — including a team of PhD-level researchers — with hands-on delivery experience across ELN, LIMS, SDMS, and data migration programmes for 16 of the top 20 global pharma companies.
We act as a trusted client advocate, representing our clients' best interests in all vendor and technology interactions. This role sits within our Lab Informatics delivery team, embedded in a global Revvity Signals implementation and migration programme.
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in pharmaceutical R&D; and laboratory informatics to join our delivery team on an exciting and high-priority engagement. The programme covers the migration from Biovia ELN to Revvity Signals (ELN, LIMS, DLX, VitroVivo) across six global R&D; sites, along with data migration from legacy systems and full GXP validation (E3 / CSA framework).
The BA will act as the primary liaison between the client's R&D; scientists and the Revvity implementation team, ensuring that the system is configured to serve the scientists' real-world needs — not simply what the vendor delivers by default.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Process Mapping
- Engage directly with R&D; scientists across chemistry, biology, and formulation disciplines to elicit and document current workflows and pain points.
- Translate scientific processes into structured IT and configuration requirements for Revvity Signals (Notebook, LIMS, DLX, VitroVivo modules).
- Map existing Biovia ELN and Cispro workflows to the target Revvity data model, identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
- Produce and maintain detailed requirements documentation, use cases, and process flow diagrams.
Vendor & Programme Coordination
- Serve as the client's advocate in all interactions with the Revvity implementation team, challenging vendor-led decisions where they do not serve the client's operational needs.
- Coordinate closely with the Data Migration Specialist (using the Intly AI migration tool) and the CSV/Validation Specialist to ensure requirements, migration, and validation streams are aligned.
- Participate in programme governance and status reviews, flagging risks and dependencies proactively.
Change Management & Training
- Develop change management plans for each site rollout, ensuring end-user buy-in and readiness prior to go-live.
- Design and deliver end-user training (scientists and lab managers) for the Revvity Signals platform across all six global sites.
- Create training materials, user guides, and quick-reference documentation in collaboration with the client's IT team.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Plan and facilitate UAT cycles at each site, ensuring test scenarios accurately reflect scientific workflows.
- Log, track, and drive resolution of defects and configuration issues identified during UAT.
- Obtain formal sign-off from site representatives ahead of each go-live.
GXP Compliance Awareness
- Work within a fully GXP-validated workplace (100% of sites are GXP; E3/CSA approach adopted).
- Ensure all requirement changes and configuration decisions are appropriately documented to support IQ/OQ/PQ activities led by the validation specialist.
- Maintain traceability between user requirements, system configurations, and test evidence.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Master's degree or above in a life-sciences field (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or equivalent).
- 8+ years' experience as a Business Analyst in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO environment, with direct exposure to R&D; or laboratory functions.
- Hands-on experience with ELN or LIMS systems (Biovia, Revvity Signals, IDBS, LabVantage, or similar).
- Demonstrable experience conducting requirements workshops with scientific stakeholders and producing formal requirement documents.
- Familiarity with GXP-regulated environments and an understanding of validation concepts (IQ, OQ, PQ, UAT in a validated context).
- Strong communication skills — able to translate between scientific language and IT/vendor terminology with equal fluency.
Preferred
- Direct experience with Revvity Signals (Notebook, LIMS, or DLX modules).
- Exposure to data migration projects, particularly migrating from Biovia ELN or similar legacy ELN platforms.
- Certification in Business Analysis (ECBA, CCBA, or CBAP).
- Experience working in a vendor-agnostic advisory or consulting capacity on behalf of a pharma client.
- Familiarity with the E3 (Enterprise, Existing, Experienced) computer software assurance framework.
- Working knowledge of instrument integration concepts (LIMS/DLX connectivity, chromatography data systems).
