Role Overview

Own the end-to-end technical design of a telco-grade Programmatic Digital Out-of-Home (pDOOH) platform for a major MENA telecommunications operator. You will architect a privacy-first, dual-plane system spanning on-prem private cloud (Oracle DRCC) and public cloud (AWS), connecting the operator’s screen inventory to global DSPs via OpenRTB.

This is a hands-on architect role — you will write design docs, set engineering standards, review code, and stay close to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Reference architecture: Own the end-to-end design across the DOOH Control Plane (CMS abstraction, slot governance, playback auth, Proof of Play) and the Monetization & Data Plane (SSP, auction engine, demand integration, billing/CDR).
- Integration design: Define patterns for connecting with the customer’s existing CMS, SSO/LDAP, BCRM, and EDW; and with the public DSP ecosystem (Google DV360, The Trade Desk, Hivestack, Criteo, MediaMath, Xandr).
- Protocol & verification: Lead OpenRTB 2.2–2.6 design with DOOH-specific extensions, and specify cryptographic Proof of Play for audit-grade billing reconciliation.
- Privacy-by-design: Drive zero-PII handling aligned with PDPL/GDPR; venue and context-based targeting only.
- Hybrid cloud topology: Design the Oracle DRCC private cloud + AWS CMS/edge layer split, secure inter-cloud links (VPN/MPLS), and edge-layer resilience for offline players.
- Non-functional targets:



Set and verify <100ms decisioning latency at P95, 99.9% availability, horizontal auto-scaling, and zero PII retention.
- Engineering leadership: Author HLDs and LLDs; review architectural PRs; mentor senior engineers and tech leads; represent the platform in customer technical reviews.

Required Experience

- 12+ years building enterprise software, with 5+ years as a hands-on architect on real-time, high-throughput systems.
- AdTech depth: RTB/OpenRTB, SSP, DSP, ad servers, attribution. pDOOH experience strongly preferred.
- Technical stack: Java / Spring Boot microservices, Aerospike or equivalent low-latency datastores, Kafka event pipelines, Kubernetes / ECS, OAuth 2.0, HMAC-signed webhooks, OpenRTB.
- Hybrid / multi-cloud: Hands-on experience with AWS + Oracle Cloud (or equivalent), including secure on-prem-to-cloud connectivity.
- Telco / RMN context: CMS integration, screen inventory governance, retail-media monetization.
- Verification & audit: Cryptographic provenance, audit-grade reconciliation, Proof of Play, ad verification.
