Job Title: Erection & Commissioning Engineer

Department: Project Execution / Site Operations

Reports To: Site Manager / Project Manager

Job Purpose The Erection & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for overseeing the physical installation (erection) and final testing (commissioning) of mechanical, electrical, or process equipment at EPC project sites, mainly in Air Pollution and Control (Bag Filter and Scrubber etc). This role ensures that all plant systems are installed safely, according to engineering designs, on schedule, and function exactly as specified before handing over to the client.

Key Responsibilities

Erection & Installation Supervision

- Supervise the positioning, alignment, leveling, and securing of heavy machinery, structural components, and piping/cabling networks.
- Review engineering drawings, P&IDs;, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals to ensure exact compliance during installation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and technicians, providing clear technical guidance to execute field work.

Commissioning & Testing

- Execute pre-commissioning checks including hydro-testing, flushing, loop checking, and cold runs.
- Lead the hot commissioning and startup of integrated systems, tuning parameters to achieve stable operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical malfunctions, design deviations, or equipment failures during the trial runs.





Project & Quality Management

- Conduct inspections (reception, installation, and final testing) to ensure compliance with quality standards and EPC contract specifications.
- Manage site resources, including specialized tools, lifting equipment, and labor, to meet project milestones.
- Raise Punch Lists for any non-conformances and track them through to successful resolution.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of hands-on site experience in erection and commissioning within heavy industries (e.g., Power Plants, Oil & Gas, Water Treatment, Petrochemicals, or Steel).

Technical Skills

- Solid ability to read and interpret complex engineering schematics, P&IDs;, and isometric drawings.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, IEEE, ISO).
- Proficiency in using alignment tools, calibration instruments, and diagnostic software.

Soft Skills & Physical Demands

- Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities under high-pressure startup schedules.
- Willingness to travel regularly and relocate to remote project sites for extended periods.
