Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior SAP FICO Consultant with solid hands-on implementation experience in SAP Controlling (CO), particularly in Product Costing, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).

The candidate will be responsible for leading CO-related implementation, configuration, enhancement, and support activities while coordinating with the FI team to ensure seamless integration between financial accounting and controlling processes.

The role requires a strong understanding of end-to-end business processes, costing methodologies, financial integration, and SAP implementation lifecycles. The candidate should be comfortable working independently on complex functional requirements, providing technical guidance to junior team members, and coordinating with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP CO – Implementation & Configuration

- Lead SAP CO implementation, rollout, enhancement, and support activities.
- Gather business requirements, conduct fit-gap analysis, and translate requirements into functional designs and SAP configurations.
- Configure and maintain Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Profit Center Accounting, and other relevant CO components.
- Design and implement cost allocation cycles, assessments, distributions, and overhead allocation processes.
- Work with business stakeholders to define costing structures, controlling requirements, and management reporting needs.
- Prepare functional specifications for required enhancements, reports, interfaces, conversions, and forms.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing support, and defect resolution.

2. Product Costing & Actual Costing





- Demonstrate strong practical experience in SAP Product Cost Planning and Product Cost Controlling.
- Configure and support standard costing, cost estimates, costing variants, costing sheets, and costing runs.
- Understand cost component structures, BOMs, routings, work centers, activity types, and production cost flows.
- Implement and support SAP Material Ledger and Actual Costing, including actual cost calculations and periodic actual costing runs.
- Analyze purchase price variances, production variances, exchange-rate impacts, and other costing differences.
- Understand work-in-progress (WIP), variance calculation, settlement, and period-end closing activities.
- Troubleshoot costing discrepancies and reconcile relevant CO results with FI and inventory valuation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to product costing and actual costing.

3. SAP CO-PA – Profitability Analysis

- Implement and support SAP Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
- Understand both costing-based CO-PA and account-based CO-PA, including their configuration and reporting implications.
- Configure and maintain operating concerns, characteristics, value fields where applicable, derivation strategies, and assessment/allocation requirements.
- Work on profitability reporting by product, customer, sales organization, distribution channel, and other business dimensions.
- Understand integration between CO-PA, Sales and Distribution (SD), FI, and Product Costing.
- Support revenue and cost flow analysis, profitability reporting, and reconciliation requirements.
- Troubleshoot profitability segment derivation, settlement, and data flow issues.

4. SAP FI Integration & Team Coordination





- Work closely with the FI resource to ensure proper integration between FI and CO processes.
- Provide functional guidance and review support for FI-related activities, as required.
- Understand general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and financial closing processes.
- Ensure appropriate integration across FI, CO, MM, SD, and PP.
- Coordinate task allocation, issue resolution, and delivery priorities across the FICO team.
- Review functional configurations, documentation, test scenarios, and solution quality.

5. Implementation, Rollout & Project Delivery

- Participate in end-to-end SAP implementation and international rollout projects.
- Lead CO workstream activities, including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
- Prepare functional design documents, configuration documentation, test scripts, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Coordinate with technical teams, business users, implementation partners, and other SAP functional teams.
- Support data migration, reconciliation, cutover, and production readiness activities.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps and propose practical solutions.
- Support continuous improvement and standardization of global finance and controlling processes.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience in SAP FICO, with a clear specialization in SAP CO.
- Practical implementation experience in SAP CO, preferably across at least one complete implementation or rollout lifecycle.
- Strong working experience in Product Costing, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, and CO-PA.
- Knowledge of Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Profit Center Accounting, and period-end closing.
- Understanding of integration between CO and FI, MM, SD, and PP.
- Experience in business requirement analysis, functional configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Ability to independently manage functional deliverables and guide junior resources.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
