Role - Senior - Python Developer -- Kochi

Position Summary The Senior Python Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, testing, and supporting enterprise applications, APIs, automation solutions, data-processing frameworks, and cloud-native services for the SAP IS-U Edge System transformation program.

The role works closely with Solution Architects, Data Architects, Integration Teams, Business Analysts, Application Leads, Data Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions supporting customer, billing, metering, reporting, and operational business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python.
- Develop reusable software components, libraries, and frameworks.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Implement application enhancements and remediation changes.
- Apply software engineering best practices and coding standards.

API & Microservices Development

- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Build secure service interfaces for enterprise applications.
- Develop integration services supporting real-time and batch processing.
- Implement service orchestration and business workflows.
- Support API governance, security, and lifecycle management.

Enterprise Integration Develop and support integrations involving:

- SAP IS-U
- Customer Data Gateway (CDG)
- Meter Data Management (MDM)
- Itron Enterprise Edition (IEE)
- Salesforce
- GIS Systems
- Mobile Applications
- Customer Portals
- Reporting Platforms
- Enterprise Middleware Solutions

These systems are identified as key components of the Edge System ecosystem. Data Engineering & Processing

- Build ETL/ELT pipelines using Python.
- Develop data ingestion and transformation frameworks.
- Support structured and unstructured data processing.
- Implement reconciliation and data validation processes.
- Develop reporting and analytics datasets.

Automation & Workflow Solutions

- Build automation tools for operational processes.
- Develop scripts supporting environment management, deployment, and monitoring.
- Automate repetitive business and technical activities.
- Create integration and data-processing automation solutions.
- Improve operational efficiency through workflow automation.

Cloud Development





- Develop cloud-native services and applications.
- Implement scalable microservices architectures.
- Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
- Build serverless and containerized solutions.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and performance.

Application Remediation & Modernization

- Analyze existing applications and technical debt.
- Support modernization of legacy technologies.
- Refactor applications for maintainability and scalability.
- Implement architectural improvements.
- Participate in technology migration initiatives.

Testing & Quality Assurance

- Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT).
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Automate testing where appropriate.
- Resolve defects and support regression testing.

The program delivery lifecycle includes design, build, unit testing, SIT, UAT, deployment, hypercare, and transition-to-support activities.

Performance Optimization

- Analyze and optimize application performance.
- Improve API response times and throughput.
- Optimize database interactions and data-processing workloads.
- Conduct performance testing and tuning activities.
- Address scalability and reliability challenges.

DevOps & CI/CD

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Support automated deployments and release management.
- Manage source control repositories and branching strategies.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Support containerization and orchestration platforms.

Production Support

- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Python applications.
- Troubleshoot application and integration issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support deployments, cutovers, and hypercare activities.
- Maintain operational runbooks and support procedures.

Security & Compliance

- Implement secure coding practices.
- Develop authentication and authorization controls.




- Protect customer and operational data.
- Support vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise security standards.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
- Experience building enterprise applications and APIs.
- Solid database and integration development experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
