Protector IQ and AVYA combine insurance expertise, product innovation and technology to make protection more relevant to people and businesses.

Protector IQ works with insurers, technology firms, healthtechs, NGOs, foundations and development organisations on insurance innovation, product intelligence, technology scoping and testing, and solutions for health, climate and livelihoods.

AVYA uses AI to help people understand their risks and find suitable insurance. We also work with partners to develop protection solutions for underserved needs, with particular attention to women’s health, careers and financial lives.

Backed by IIMA Ventures, we’re looking for someone who can build business, develop partnerships and work with insurers to turn customer needs into practical insurance solutions.

THE ROLE

You’ll drive affinity partnerships for AVYA and consulting opportunities for Protector IQ, while coordinating with insurers on structuring and placement. You should enjoy understanding a risk, exploring how it could be covered and bringing the right people together to make it happen.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Identify and develop partnerships with employers, financial institutions, healthtechs, professional associations and community networks.
- Generate consulting and institutional business across insurance innovation, product intelligence, technology and research.
- Understand customer and partner needs, identify protection gaps and help structure relevant insurance solutions.
- Liaise with insurers, underwriters and placement partners on risk appetite, coverage, quotations, terms and placement requirements.
- Prepare clear risk submissions and coordinate information needed for insurer evaluation.
- Compare insurer proposals,



identify coverage gaps and negotiate commercial and coverage terms within the authorised scope of the business.
- Work with the founder and technical team to develop affinity, group, embedded and customised insurance propositions.
- Bring creative thinking to product design, perks, delivery models and underserved customer needs.
- Develop proposals, presentations, scopes of work and commercial agreements.
- Own opportunities from initial outreach through closure, placement coordination, launch and account growth.
- Maintain a disciplined pipeline and deliver against business and revenue targets.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 5–7 years of experience in insurance business development, broking, insurer relationship management, affinity sales, placement or a closely related role.
- A working understanding of insurance products, coverage, exclusions and underwriting requirements.
- Experience liaising with insurers and taking opportunities through quotation, negotiation and placement.
- A track record of originating opportunities and converting them into business.
- A knack for insurance innovation and structuring: curiosity about customer needs, the ability to spot gaps and the initiative to explore workable solutions.
- Strong communication, proposal-writing, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- A hands-on approach and comfort working in an early-stage business.
- Willingness to work from our Mulund, Mumbai office and travel for meetings when required.

Experience across commercial insurance, group health, affinity or embedded insurance would be valuable. Exposure to consulting engagements, institutional proposals or tenders is a plus.
