We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Interior Designer who can take ownership of projects from concept development to site execution and work closely with our design, technical, and project teams.

Role OverviewAs a Senior Interior Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design development of assigned projects, preparing detailed drawings and documentation, coordinating with consultants and vendors, and ensuring that the design intent is translated accurately on site.

We are looking for someone who can balance creativity with practicality, independently manage project responsibilities, guide junior designers, and communicate confidently with clients and execution teams.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in commercial interior projects and a strong understanding of materials, detailing, construction methods, and site coordination.

Key Responsibilities1.

Design

Concept & Development

- Develop creative and functional interior design concepts based on project briefs, client requirements, and budgets.
- Prepare space planning layouts, furniture layouts, mood boards, material palettes, and design presentations.
- Develop design concepts for corporate offices, commercial spaces, retail outlets, hospitality projects, and luxury residences.
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and accessories in line with the design intent.
- Research new materials, technologies, trends, and design solutions.
- Ensure that the proposed designs balance aesthetics, functionality, durability, and cost efficiency.
- Translate client requirements into practical and well-coordinated design solutions.

Technical

Drawings & Documentation
- Prepare and review detailed working drawings for interior design and execution.
- Develop drawings for:
- Furniture layouts and space planning
- Civil and flooring layouts
- False ceilings and lighting layouts
- Electrical and switch layouts
- Partition and wall panelling details
- Custom furniture and joinery
- Kitchen and pantry layouts
- Toilet layouts and sanitary fixture details
- Wall elevations and sections
- Material and finish schedules
- Detailed construction and installation drawings
- Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and suitable for site execution.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts before drawings are issued to site.




- Maintain proper drawing revisions and documentation.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, HVAC, fire safety, and other consultants wherever required.
- Prepare BOQs, material specifications, and quantity take-offs in coordination with the project and estimation teams.

3. 3D Visualisation & Design Presentation
- Develop and review 3D models, renders, and design presentations.
- Prepare client presentations that communicate the design intent clearly.
- Ensure consistency between approved 3D views, material selections, and technical drawings.
- Coordinate with external 3D visualisation teams, if required.
- Revise designs based on client feedback while maintaining design quality, feasibility, and project budgets.

Preferred software proficiency:

- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, or equivalent rendering software
- Adobe Photoshop
- MS Office or Google Workspace

Knowledge of Revit, BIM workflows, or other relevant design software will be an advantage.
- Material Selection & Vendor Coordination
- Research and recommend materials, finishes, fixtures, and fittings suitable for each project.
- Prepare material boards, finish schedules, and sample approval sheets.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers to understand product specifications, costs, and availability.
- Evaluate alternatives based on quality, durability, aesthetics, lead time, and budget.
- Obtain samples, review mock-ups, and coordinate material approvals.
- Ensure the materials selected are technically appropriate and available within project timelines.
- Maintain updated material specifications and vendor information.

5. Site Coordination & Execution
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and design implementation.
- Ensure that site execution follows approved drawings, specifications, and design intent.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, contractors, and vendors.
- Clarify drawing-related queries and issue additional details wherever required.
- Identify design discrepancies and site constraints and propose practical solutions.
- Review workmanship, materials, finishes, furniture installation, lighting, and other interior elements.
- Prepare and communicate site observations, snag lists, and rectification requirements.
- Track design-related pending items and coordinate their closure.
- Review site measurements and verify critical dimensions before finalising custom furniture and joinery drawings.
- Escalate technical issues, delays, and deviations to the appropriate team members.
- Support project handover by ensuring design-related snags are addressed.

6. Client Management & Coordination
- Understand client expectations, functional requirements, aesthetic preferences, and budget constraints.
- Participate in client meetings, design discussions, and project review meetings.
- Present design proposals and explain material, detailing, and planning decisions.
- Incorporate client feedback into design revisions.




- Communicate design decisions and project requirements clearly and professionally.
- Maintain timely communication with clients regarding design submissions, approvals, and pending decisions.
- Manage expectations regarding design feasibility, cost implications, and execution timelines.

7. Project Planning & Management
- Manage assigned design projects from concept development through design documentation and execution support.
- Prepare and track design deliverables against project schedules.
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure drawings, specifications, and material approvals are issued on time.
- Monitor design changes and identify their impact on cost, procurement, and execution timelines.
- Maintain project folders, drawing registers, approval records, and design documentation.
- Prioritise tasks across multiple projects and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Work closely with estimation and execution teams to maintain alignment between design intent and approved budgets.
- Take ownership of design-related issues and follow them through to resolution.

8. Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide junior interior designers, draftsmen, and design team members.
- Review drawings, presentations, and design deliverables prepared by junior team members.
- Delegate tasks effectively and monitor their completion.
- Establish consistency in drawing standards, design quality, and documentation.
- Support the team in resolving technical challenges and developing practical design solutions.
- Encourage collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the design team.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in interior design.
- Demonstrated experience handling projects from concept to working drawings and site execution.
- Strong experience in commercial interiors, corporate offices, retail, hospitality, or other large-scale interior projects.
- Good knowledge of construction practices, interior detailing, materials, finishes, and installation methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of rendering and presentation tools.
- Ability to prepare detailed working drawings and construction documentation independently.
- Experience in BOQs, material specifications, and vendor coordination.
- Solid communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to undertake site visits and coordinate with execution teams.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver work with minimal supervision.
