We don’t just build hardware, we are democratizing the final frontier by providing global clientele with the cost-effective, high-performance technology needed to power the next generation of orbital missions. At Azista, you won't just be starting a job, you’ll be fuelling the future of space exploration.
JOB SUMMARY
In this role, you will drive the chemistry and electrochemical evaluation of lithium-ion cells, lead life-cycle testing, degradation analysis, and failure investigations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver mission-critical energy storage solutions. You will play a key role in defining qualification strategies, improving battery reliability, and ensuring compliance with international aerospace standards while mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
This is an exceptional chance to work on next-generation spacecraft power systems where your expertise will directly dictate mission success, fueling the future of global aerospace exploration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead electrochemical evaluation: Assess performance and reliability of lithium-ion cells for spacecraft battery applications under stringent mission parameters.
- Drive qualification and testing: Develop and execute long-duration life-cycle testing plans and establish scientifically sound testing methodologies.
- Analyze degradation trends: Evaluate capacity fade, impedance growth, and remaining useful life (RUL) to build predictive models for mission life estimation.
- Perform failure investigations: Use electrical, electrochemical, and physical characterization techniques to identify root causes and correlate findings with manufacturing processes.
- Review complex test data: Interpret EIS, DCIR, HPPC, OCV, and rate capability datasets to provide actionable technical recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with electronics, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and reliability teams for seamless integration into spacecraft platforms.
- Ensure standards compliance: Prepare technical reports and qualification documents meeting ECSS, NASA, and aerospace quality standards while mentoring junior engineers.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR ?
- Education: M.Tech., M.E., or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science,
or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 7–8+ years of relevant industry or research experience in lithium-ion battery development, electrochemical characterization, or reliability engineering.
- Core Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of lithium-ion chemistry, degradation mechanisms (LLI, LAM, SEI growth, lithium plating), and life-cycle performance evaluation.
- Characterization Techniques: Hands-on experience with EIS, DCIR, HPPC, capacity testing, and charge-discharge analysis.
- Tools & Software: Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Origin, or similar data analysis software.
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:
- Prior experience in spacecraft battery development, satellite power systems, or high-reliability defense and aviation sectors.
- Familiarity with environmental qualification testing (thermal cycling, vibration, vacuum, radiation) and BMS design.
- Knowledge of Design for Reliability (DfR), FMEA, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Publications or active research in advanced electrochemical energy storage technologies.
WHY JOIN US?
- Pioneering Impact: Work at the forefront of India's private aerospace revolution, contributing directly to indigenous satellite mass-production and global space accessibility.
- Culture of Innovation: Collaborate with top-tier multidisciplinary engineering teams in an environment that values technical leadership, data-driven decisions, and continuous learning.
- Growth & Mentorship: Shape the future of space technology while mentoring the next wave of aerospace engineers in a high-impact, mission-critical domain.
