- We are looking for an accountant with the following .

Role purposeThe Accountant will own day-to-day accounting, the manufacturing (production) module and the inventory module in our accounting software. The goal is clean books, accurate stock and cost figures, and marketplace payouts that fully reconcile with sales, returns and fees. You will be the single point of control for numbers from raw tea to the customer's doorstep.

Key responsibilities1. Accounting and books• Maintain day-to-day books in Tally Prime / ERP: sales, purchases, expenses, journals, bank and cash entries.

- Post marketplace sales, returns (RTO and customer returns), cancellations and replacements correctly, by platform and by state.
- Reconcile bank accounts, vendor and customer ledgers every month.
- Manage accounts payable for tea suppliers, packaging vendors, co-packers, logistics and service providers.
- Prepare month-end closing entries, provisions and accruals; support quarterly and annual closing.
- Coordinate with the statutory auditor and tax consultant; prepare audit schedules.
- Marketplace reconciliation (Amazon, Flipkart and others)• Download and reconcile settlement / payment reports from Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub and other platforms with orders booked.
- Track and account for commissions, fixed closing fees, shipping fees, storage (FBA / Flipkart warehouse) fees, advertising spend and other deductions.
- Identify short payments, unclaimed reimbursements, lost or damaged inventory claims (e.g. SAFE-T, SPF) and follow up until recovered.
- Reconcile returns: units returned vs. units received back in saleable or damaged condition.
- Maintain a platform-wise receivables tracker and ageing.




- GST and other compliance• Prepare data for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, including state-wise sales from marketplace reports.
- Reconcile TCS collected by e-commerce operators (GSTR-8) and TDS (Section 194-O) deducted by platforms with Form 26AS / AIS and books.
- Reconcile input tax credit with GSTR-2B.
- Handle GST registrations / additional places of business where stock is held in marketplace warehouses (in coordination with the consultant).
- Track TDS payable, monthly deposits and quarterly returns; generate e-way bills and e-invoices where required.
- Manufacturing module• Set up and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) for each SKU: loose tea, blends, packaging material (pouches, cartons, labels), and other inputs.
- Record production / manufacturing journals for each batch, including job-work or co-packer production.
- Track material consumption, wastage and yield against standard; report variances.
- Calculate cost of production and per-unit cost for every SKU and pack size.
- Maintain batch numbers, manufacturing and expiry dates as required for food (FSSAI) compliance.
- Inventory module• Maintain stock records for raw tea, packaging material, work-in-progress and finished goods across all locations: own warehouse, co-packer, and marketplace fulfilment centres (FBA, Flipkart Smart Fulfilment, etc.).
- Record stock transfers to marketplace warehouses and reconcile with platform inventory reports.
- Conduct monthly physical stock counts and reconcile with books; investigate and report differences.
- Track near-expiry, damaged and slow-moving stock; flag reorder levels to the operations team.
- Value closing inventory correctly for monthly and annual accounts.




- MIS and reporting• Prepare monthly MIS: sales by platform and SKU, gross margin, platform fees as % of sales, return rates, and stock position.
- Prepare SKU-wise and platform-wise profitability statements.
- Track cash flow, receivables from platforms and payables to vendors.
- Support budgeting and pricing decisions with cost data.

Who we are looking forMust have• B.Com / M.Com with 3–6 years of accounting experience.
- At least 2 years in a company selling online through Amazon, Flipkart or similar marketplaces.
- Hands-on experience reconciling marketplace settlement reports, fees, returns and claims.
- Working knowledge of the manufacturing (BOM / production) and inventory modules in Tally Prime or a similar ERP like Zoho.
- Sound practical knowledge of GST (including e-commerce TCS), TDS and month-end closing.
- Good Excel skills: VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, and handling large report downloads.
- Fluent in English and Hindi or Bengali, with clear written communication.

Good to have• CA Inter / CMA Inter.
- Experience in FMCG or food and beverage, ideally tea, spices or similar packaged goods.
- Exposure to Zoho Books / Zoho Inventory, Busy, or inventory tools such as Unicommerce or EasyEcom.
- Familiarity with quick-commerce platforms (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart) and their reports.
- Basic understanding of FSSAI batch and labelling requirements.

Personal qualities• Detail-oriented, with a habit of reconciling until the numbers match.
- Works independently and meets deadlines without close supervision.
- Comfortable working with operations and warehouse teams to trace stock.

Compensation and how to apply• CTC: Up to ₹5,00,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills. Includes statutory advantages (PF, ESI where applicable, gratuity) as per law.

- Working days: Monday to Saturday, with 2nd and 4th Saturdays Off. Office-based in Kolkata.
- Notice period: Immediate joiners or up to 30 days preferred.
