The Residential Nurse will be responsible for providing timely nursing care, first aid, health monitoring and medical support to students and staff within the school premises and hostel. The role requires close coordination with the School Leadership, Residential Team, parents and authorised medical professionals to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of students, including during evenings, nights, weekends and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

- Provide immediate first aid, basic nursing care and initial assessment for students and staff who are unwell or injured.
- Remain available during assigned school and residential duty hours and respond promptly to medical emergencies, including after regular school hours as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student health concerns, treatment provided, medication administration, referrals and follow-up.
- Administer prescribed medication only in accordance with authorised medical instructions and school procedures, ensuring proper documentation.
- Maintain and monitor the school infirmary / medical room, first-aid kits, emergency medicines and essential medical supplies.
- Monitor students with known medical conditions, allergies, dietary restrictions or other health concerns and ensure required precautions are followed.
- Coordinate with parents / guardians regarding significant health concerns, medical referrals, hospitalisation or follow-up requirements as authorised by the School.
- Arrange or support hospital / clinic visits in emergencies or where medical consultation is required.
- Coordinate with doctors, hospitals, ambulance services and other healthcare providers wherever required.
- Support health screening, vaccination, medical camps and other student wellbeing initiatives conducted by the School.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and employee medical information and ensure records are handled securely.




- Support the Residential Coordinator and School Leadership in maintaining appropriate health, hygiene and safety standards within the residence.
- Educate students on basic hygiene, personal health, menstrual hygiene, healthy habits and responsible use of medicines, where appropriate.
- Identify and escalate any health, behavioural or wellbeing concern requiring further attention.
- Participate in emergency preparedness, evacuation drills and health-related risk management activities.
- Ensure timely reporting of accidents, injuries, communicable illnesses or other significant health incidents through the prescribed school process.
- Carry out other nursing, health and residential wellbeing responsibilities assigned by the School from time to time.

Qualification & Experience

- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognised institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Nursing Council / competent nursing authority.
- Preferably 1 to 5 years of nursing experience, with experience in a school, hospital, paediatric, residential or institutional environment being an advantage.
- Knowledge of first aid, emergency response, medication management and basic student healthcare.
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during medical emergencies.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work in a residential workplace with flexible duty timings, including evenings, nights, weekends or holidays based on operational requirements.
