Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor (QS) Civil Engineer role based in Chennai. The role involves preparing and reviewing estimates, bills of quantities, and cost plans for civil engineering and construction projects. Daily tasks include quantity take-offs from drawings, validation of contractor bills, cost monitoring, and assisting with budgeting and tender preparation.

The QS Civil Engineer will collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective resource utilization and compliance with project specifications. The role also includes maintaining accurate documentation, supporting contract administration,



and contributing to value engineering and risk assessments.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid quantity surveying and cost estimation skills, including preparing BOQs, cost plans, and tender documents.
- Candidates should possess civil engineering and construction knowledge, including familiarity with structural works, infrastructure projects, and standard building materials.
- Candidates should possess planning and project control abilities, such as budgeting, cost monitoring, and progress reporting.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Excel, MS Project or similar, and quantity take-off/estimation software.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with site teams, consultants, suppliers, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field; additional specialization in Quantity Surveying is an advantage.
- Prior experience in QS or civil engineering roles within the construction or industrial projects sector, preferably in India, is highly beneficial.
