Purchase Manager – The Wellness Shop

The Role A hands-on Purchase Manager to own sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging and finished goods across our beauty and nutraceutical range, working closely with the founders, operations and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

- Plan and manage purchases of raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard new manufacturers and suppliers.
- Support sourcing for new product launches.

Vendor Management

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs and lead times.
- Build strong relationships with contract manufacturers and packaging vendors.
- Track vendor performance on quality, cost and delivery.

Cost & Inventory Control
- Drive cost savings without compromising quality.
- Work with operations to plan stock based on demand and sales forecasts.
- Prevent stock-outs and minimise excess or expiring inventory.

Quality & Compliance




- Ensure materials and products meet our quality standards and specifications.
- Collect and verify supplier documentation, including COAs and licences.
- Ensure vendors comply with FSSAI, cosmetic, Ayush and GMP requirements as applicable.

Coordination & Reporting
- Raise and track purchase orders through to delivery.
- Coordinate with finance on vendor payments and with operations on inward stock.
- Share regular reports on purchases, costs and vendor performance.

Must Have

- Hands-on experience working with third-party (contract) manufacturers, from onboarding to production follow-ups.
- In-depth knowledge of raw materials and packaging materials, including specifications, grades, costing and suppliers.
- Prior experience in skincare, personal care and nutraceutical categories.

Candidate Profile

- Minimum 8+ years in purchase, procurement or sourcing.
- Strong network of contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers.
- Good negotiation skills and understanding of costing.
- Working knowledge of FSSAI and cosmetic regulations is a plus.
- Comfortable with Excel and ERP or inventory tools.
- Organised and comfortable in a quick-paced, founder-led setup.
