- Job Purpose To lead and manage the purchase and procurement function, ensuring the timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices to support uninterrupted production in the wiring harness manufacturing business.
- Key Responsibilities

A. Procurement & Purchase Planning
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with production requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, wires, cables, connectors, terminals, plastic components, and other production materials.
- Coordinate with PPC, Production, Stores, Quality, and Finance departments to meet material requirements.
- Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, and material availability.

B. Vendor Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers.
- Conduct vendor assessments and maintain an approved supplier list.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

C. Cost Control & Commercial Management
- Implement cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives.
- Analyze quotations and conduct comparative price evaluations.
- Monitor market trends, material price fluctuations, and procurement budgets.
- Develop long-term supplier agreements wherever appropriate.

D. Inventory & Supply Chain Management
- Coordinate with Stores and PPC to maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Prevent material shortages, excess stock, and production interruptions.
- Monitor critical and long-lead-time materials.
- Support inventory control and slow/non-moving stock reduction.

E. Quality & Compliance
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for supplier quality issues and corrective actions.




- Ensure procurement follows company procedures and customer-specific requirements.
- Maintain purchase orders, quotations, agreements, supplier records, and other procurement documents.
- Support internal, customer, and external audits related to procurement.

F. Team Management & Reporting
- Lead, guide, and develop the purchase team.
- Establish procurement KPIs and monitor departmental performance.
- Prepare reports on cost savings, supplier performance, on-time delivery, and purchase activities.
- Report procurement risks and improvement opportunities to management.
- Educational Qualification
- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline; Diploma candidates may be considered based on relevant experience.
- Experience
- Relevant experience in purchase and procurement, preferably in the automotive components or wiring harness manufacturing industry.
- Experience in vendor development, commercial negotiations, and material planning.
- Experience handling electrical components, wires, connectors, terminals, and related raw materials will be preferred.
- Required Skills
- Solid negotiation and analytical skills.

- Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory control.
- Understanding of automotive manufacturing requirements.
- ERP/SAP or other procurement software knowledge.
