We are looking for a proactive Purchase Engineer to identify and develop suppliers, source mechanical and electrical components, and manage procurement activities for our SPM and robotic automation projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for mechanical components, electrical components, automation products, and industrial hardware.
- Identify and onboard subcontractors and job-work vendors for fabrication, machining, sheet metal, welding, panel building, and assembly.
- Source components such as motors, gearboxes, sensors, PLCs, drives, pneumatic components, bearings, linear guides, fasteners, and other engineering items.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors based on price, quality, delivery, and technical specifications.
- Prepare RFQs, purchase orders, comparative statements, and procurement reports.
- Coordinate with design, electrical, production, and project management teams to understand BOMs and project requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Track material delivery and ensure timely availability of components to meet project deadlines.




- Develop a reliable vendor database and continuously identify cost-effective sourcing opportunities.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve quality issues, delivery delays, and material discrepancies.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related Engineering disciplines.
- 2–5 years of experience in purchase, procurement, or vendor development, preferably in industrial automation, machine building, or manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical components used in SPM and robotic automation projects.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Strong vendor negotiation, quotation comparison, and cost-control skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP or procurement systems.
- Valuable communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.

Preferred Experience
- Experience sourcing components for robotic automation, SPM, industrial machinery, and control panels.
- Established contacts with machining, fabrication, sheet metal, electrical panel, and automation component suppliers.
- Knowledge of local industrial supplier networks around Chennai, Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, and nearby manufacturing hubs.
