Drexon Industries is a funded, DPIIT-recognised deep-tech defence startup founded by IIT Madras engineers. We build AI-driven autonomous surveillance, unmanned platforms and sensor fusion systems, and we work closely with the armed forces.

Our core products are:

- VANGUARD, an autonomous surveillance tower for intrusion and counter-drone detection
- NOCX, a battlefield operating system that lets operators control multiple ground and aerial drones and sensors from a single platform

Our systems are engineered for real operational conditions. As part of a small, focused team, your work will move from design to deployment in the field.

About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of our hardware products end to end. You will take designs from concept and CAD through analysis, fabrication and prototyping, all the way to field testing. You will work directly with the founding team and with our electrical and software engineers.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the mechanical design of sensor towers, masts, gimbals, enclosures and mounting structures for cameras, radar and compute hardware
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings with GD&T; using SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent tools
- Perform structural, thermal and vibration analysis (FEA) to validate designs against wind loading, weight and environmental conditions
- Design for manufacturability across CNC machining,



sheet metal, 3D printing and extrusion-based frameworks
- Select materials, fasteners, seals and off-the-shelf components, and coordinate with fabrication vendors
- Build, assemble and test prototypes, then iterate based on bench and field results
- Integrate mechanical designs with electrical, cabling, power and thermal management requirements, including IP-rated enclosures
- Maintain design documentation, BOMs and revision control

Requirements

- BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 1+ years of hands-on product design and prototyping experience
- Strong CAD skills, with a portfolio of complex assemblies or built hardware
- Working knowledge of FEA tools such as SolidWorks Simulation, Ansys or similar
- Practical experience with fabrication processes and shop-floor prototyping

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with ruggedisation, IP ratings and MIL-STD environmental requirements
- Experience taking hardware from prototype through field or environmental testing
