Role Description The Lead Physical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South, responsible for driving end-to-end physical implementation of complex ASIC designs. Day-to-day tasks include floorplanning, place-and-route, clock tree synthesis, timing closure, and power optimization, while closely collaborating with RTL, circuit, and logic design teams. The role involves overseeing physical verification, resolving design-rule and layout-versus-schematic issues, and ensuring that designs meet performance, power, and area targets.

The engineer will guide junior team members,



contribute to methodology improvements, interface with cross-functional stakeholders, and support tape-out activities for advanced technology nodes.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Physical Design, including floorplanning, place-and-route, CTS, timing closure, and power/area optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Physical Verification, including DRC, LVS, and sign-off checks using industry-standard EDA tools.
- Solid understanding of Logic Design and Circuit Design principles, including combinational/sequential logic, timing, and power trade-offs.
- Proficiency in RTL Design concepts, constraints, and handoff processes to backend implementation teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, VLSI, or a related discipline.
- Experience with industry EDA toolchains (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens) and scripting in languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and drive projects to tape-out with minimal supervision.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment.
- Prior experience in advanced technology nodes and low-power design methodologies is highly beneficial.
